Sounds interesting. Would like to hear what you think of it after some use.
Would like to know a ball park figure on what they cost. Have often thought about getting one, but have not done any research.

Hey Mark. You can get a metal detector for as little $100.00 all the way up to $5000.00 . You just have to decide. I got a Fisher F4 thats normally over $400.00 for $250.00.
It gets here tomorrow. Its also supposed to rain. I cant wait to try it out.

Ever since I was a kid I always wanted one! I've seen 2 in a secondhand store and in a pawn shop. I'll take the plunge one day, my family always seem to be lucky in finding money and jewelry just walking down the street.

Well i received the metal detector yesterday late afternoon, and i put it together. Briefly scanned the rather in depth owners manual, and was a bit lost.
I hauled the contraption out to the back 40 (3/4 acre) haha, and started swinging. In about 20 minutes i found my 1st treasure. Yep its a cat food can lid. Lol. Maybe ill have better luck today. I might even fire up my pipe with sone Captain Black, and actually read the man U L.
Cheers!

recommend that if you sit down and start to read the manual, have the detector at hand .... without that, its easy to get lost and/or frustrated .... second, if your unit has an auto setting USE IT until you become more familiar with its operation

I got mine very late last year and only had time to go around my yard a few times before the snow flew. Now I 'm kicking myself for ejecting all those 22 casings around my property!
