I have always enjoyed puzzles and Legos are basically 3D puzzles.
Currently working on a custom set that takes me back to the days when I wore OD Green.
It was designed by a Seabee that I served with.

Total of 290 pieces about 2 1/2 hours in and currently starting to look like a truck frame. The instruction booklet on this one is bit challenging.

Our middle adult son does legos. He has an almost lego room in his house.

I like the Duece and 1/2. Looks like a good mental 3D exercise.

Thanks gentlemen, I have just recently started with these. And they are definitely a brain workout. In the last 4 months I have put together a couple of Bonsai trees, a small Millennium Falcon, and a Christmas tree. They were all Lego Brand Kits. This one being custom with all Lego pieces is more challenging. The directions are more basic.

Best toy ever. Played with my son and now grandson.

When our now adult children were little, they did legos in the attic. I haven't been up there is sometime, but I think the legos are still scattered all over the place up there. Those legos are from before they started making all the kit models for different things. Oh, and I put together a Santa Claus sleigh with reindeer last year. There were some interesting hidden compartments in it.

I had Lincoln Logs and Erector Sets as a kid, but that dates me. My son had Legos, LOTS of Legos. A plastic washtub full. He would get sets and sets for birthdays, Christmas, Easter, and any other Gift he earned. He'd assemble whatever kit he received, then break it apart, toss the Legos in the washtub and toss the box and all the directions. He and his pals would build all sorts of things, then tear that down and ALL the Legos went back in the tub. By the time he graduated from High School, he had that Tub 3/4 full and could build cityscapes. He was a very smart kid, Governor's School Student, graduated third in his class, ONLY because he intentionally skewed his grade point average to end up there. (NO speeches at the ceremony.) Earned a Scholarship to College, and off he went. We put the LEGOs in a Rubbermade Tub with a lid and stored them for him.

After a couple semesters, he decided decided college wasn't for him, and dropped out and went in to the Coast Guard... to see some excitement before he settled in. Once he finished Coast Guard Boot Camp, the Legos went to his Duty Station with him. and traveled where he did, except out on the cutter for three months at a time. Unfortunately, his wife let the YOUNG children that visited play with the LEGOS while he was deployed on the cutter. She was too lazy to make sure they got put away, would sweep them up and toss them. When she swept. You know, "There were so many, why worry about a few here and there. They're just LEGOS." No wonder that first marriage didn't last. Well, that and the other things she did while he was deployed.

Makes me think that as we get older and less agile both physically and mentally that doing Lego’s could be some great therapy. I know when my MIL was still alive she spent lots of time on her computer playing strategy games and we believe that helped her live to 93 despite poor habits like smoking.

I too had Lincoln Logs, my dad's old erector set, tons of Legos, and a few other toys along those lines. What I liked was that everything built, after the first couple simple things, was from the blueprint in my mind. And the designs changed occasionally during the builds. I remember when Lego first had wheels, and then when the blocks for the wheel axle could be mounted vertically, for helicopter rotor blades and such.

We just had a local pool tournament that asked for us to bring unwrapped gifts for the Toys-4-Tots program. I brought a couple Lego items, and was amazed that an entire isle at WalMart is dedicated to Legos. I also liked that so many of the donated toys that day were Legos. They're a fantastic invention.

Absolutely, I have found puzzles, sudoku, and now Legos are keeping me more focused on detail. I try to avoid too much online social media time. This forum is one of my down time fillers. Staying in touch with people I have come to appreciate.

Finished up the Deuce and a Half this morning. It was pretty well designed and brought back old memories. I drove a number of them and putting this together was much less uncomfortable than bouncing around in one. I do wish the Maker would have had it done in OD green as opposed to Navy Gray.
