Look what followed my home.

Post by Hatchdog » Sat Jun 29, 2024 9:24 am

I’ve been on the search for a pontoon boat for a few months now and finally found one that fit our wants and needs. This is a 2015 Lowe 21’ Sportfish model that is very well equipped. It’s set up for both fishing and pulling the grandkids in a tube and will be perfect to beach with the dogs and give them some quality lake time. It has the ski tow bar along with a 90 hp Merc to pull the kids around. For fishing it has four fishing chairs, Minnkota trolling motor, Lowrance fish finder, downriggers, rod holders and a live well. Nice locking rod and tackle storage and an onboard charger for the trolling motor batteries. Tandem axle trailer with brakes.

I’ll post some more pictures later when I take them. I just took this pic when I got the boat home yesterday.

Sweet boat. You should have a lot of fun with that.

Congratulations on that great boat. I'm sure everyone will enjoy it. Sounds very well equipped.

At one time, I was looking for something just like that.

I think that was my boat. It has my name on it. 😊
Is it a tritoon?

No Mr. Lowe it’s a bi-toon. But it does have lifting strakes on the pontoon that help with performance I’m told. A tri-toon would be better for sure. Yesterday my wife got all the storage bins cleaned up so today I’ll sort thru the stuff that came with the boat and the stuff I have left from our last boat and fill the bins up. Put it into the shop yesterday and it was a chore due to the size of the boat. I’m thinking I’ll keep it outside under the lean to on the side of the shop during the boating season for easier placement and put it inside for the winter. My building is 30’ wide, sure wish I had made it 40’ and put two 12x14 doors on it instead of the one 18x12 door. We just had to have a bigger boat.

That is a cozy fit in your shop. Not much room left for shop activities during the winter months. My younger son bought one similar recently. We were out on a lake a couple weekends ago and had good time with it. From that experience I'm sure you'll enjoy yours too.

Nice looking boat, and with that engine, you may even be able to pull the kids on skis. I like that the enclosure goes all the way up to the front, so more usable deck space that way. Hard to beat a pontoon for a group, and for spending the whole day out on the water.
Congrats, and safe boating!

Nice looking boat there Hatch, I've never been much of a boat person myself, but I can appreciate them for sure.
When do you expect to give it a try out.

Congratulations and best of luck with it. We had a pontoon boat for 16 years and got a lot of enjoyment out of it. Very versatile and lots of uses. I used mine as a party barge and would swim, water ski and tube from it. We had it on a lake in Georgia and would load it up with friends, food and beer, then head out to one of the many islands to spend the day.

Plan is to get it wet today. Heading up north an hour away and launching on Lake Roosevelt which is the huge reservoir behind the Grand Coulee Dam. Plan is to get off the water by the afternoon as the 4th of July party folks will be arriving tonight. Fun times for them but I’m too damn old for that.
