Blackstone griddle

Post by Hatchdog » Fri Dec 01, 2023 10:02 am

So I decided to buy a griddle to take camping with us and bought this portable 22” from Costco when they had it on sale for $30 off a few weeks ago. Yesterday I unpacked and assembled it (very little assembly) and set it up outside on the patio. I needed to season the cooking surface which took a while as I had to oil and cook it off four times. Decided to do bacon and French toast (one of our favorite “dinners”. While everything came out great this was a bad choice for my first attempt at griddling. Too busy with flipping bacon and dipping and flipping the toast and running back and forth from the kitchen and the patio. Another problem was I set the unit on the one table I have for accessories so had no horizontal surface to put things on. Bet I looked like crazy person trying to manage everything. But I will have to say it was still fun to use. I ordered a portable stand to put it on which will be good for camping too. Originally I planned to put the griddle on the same table I use for the grill but the griddle is bigger than I expected and it wouldn’t fit on my table.

Seasoning the cooking surface.

Sorry about the blurry pics, in addition to running around like a chicken missing its head dragging my phone out of my pocket with egg batter covered hands got to be “interesting”.

It looks great. I've thought about one, but the grill and smoker already take up room enough on the deck.

NICE .... very nice indeed .... I wanted to get one for our camper but I couldn't work out the weight and bulk .... ended up with an electric kitchen unit with a nonstick cooking surface .... we use it a lot .... I'd still like a Blackstone but that just ain't in the cards

When a clown moves into a palace, he doesn't become a king. The palace becomes a circus.
