My addiction to radios continues. In Washington I had dozens of post war tube radios. I really liked the warm sound but most often they were low powered and lacked good speakers.

I left them all behind and now I’m in the mood for feeding a new related addiction. I recently bought five Bose Wave radios for listening to the Brewers. They are great for talk but lack in music.

Now I’m looking for vintage Marantz receivers. I was familiar with them in the 70’s but could never afford them. The babies are first on my list and I’m looking at both a 2010 and 2015. Maybe someday I’ll own a 2500!

Marantz were/are definitely top of the line receivers. There is a small store about 1/4 mile from me that specializes in old vinyl and classic old stereo equipment. Hope you find what you're looking for. I recently had my old Sansui linear tracking turntable cleaned up and the belts replaced. I enjoy listening to the large collection of classic vinyl that I have.

I’m thinking of getting a turntable and some vinyl too.

I will curiously see if the local shop has any Marantz. Been a little while since I was in there, but I pass it almost every day on the way to the supermarket.

This unit is looking really good. Expensive but if you don’t buy it someone else will. Even the junk ones go for $600 to $800 and then it costs another $400 to have them recapped.

That IS a nice one! sure brings back memories.
When I had my shop built, I tipped my contractor friend by giving him a real nice pair of Technic speakers. Wish I had not done that.

I knew someone who had one of those that was a Quadraphonic and there was a local rock station that every hour for fifteen minutes had "the quad quarter" and broadcast in quadraphonic sound . That was an idea that didn't catch on.

My friend had one with a combined fade and balance called a joystick.
