a nice thing

Post by The Wiz » Sun Jan 24, 2021 6:39 pm

Today I was looking for some nice rocks to finish off my new fish tank. I was working my way down a trail by a lake near my place, toward a creek that fed into the lake. I knew that there would be rocks the size I was looking for. They would be weathered from the water with no sharp edges, perfect for fish. The trail is well used and a family of 4 went by me, a toddler being carried and a young boy while I was looking a rock and I explained I was collecting rocks, They went by with mom thanking me for my service. I was continuing to looking at the rock, when the boy ran back up the hill with three little rocks in his small hand from the creek we were approaching. He said here and ran back down the hill to mama. I was almost speechless but I did manage to say thank you and called him a sweetie as ran down the hill. Now whether he did that by himself or mama suggested it, It does not really matter. Life just throws nice things at you sometimes. Needless to say, those rocks are in the tank and I will always remember that kid.

I love that feeling when someone cares. Glad you kept the rocks.

Nice, what a great feeling. Great to be able to look at those rocks and remember the day.

Had a similar experience today. My wife and I were at the grocery store looking at Lasagna noodles and saw some that we didn’t know anything about. As we were discussing them a lady spoke up and explained them to us, basically you don’t have to boil them first. Anyway, we appreciated her stepping in and helping us understand and yes, we bought them!! :D

Good folks are out there thankfully.

I recently put my van into the ditch hitting some trees during a snowstorm. A couple days later a friend knowing what I was doing with my van, helping my ex-wife, gave me several hundred dollars. Shortly after that, I won a $500 scratch ticket. This is totally out of my norm. I do not buy them. But, The voice said to me by that one. So, I won five hundred dollars. This, with the cash, paid for my repairs.

God takes care of us. He gave me the money, and sent me to a repair guy that did great work for minimal cost.

Don’t ever think you are wasting your time when doing a good deed.

It will come back to you, a hundred times over.

Pay it forward.

Karma comes back around in kind... Good or bad. Eventually.
We try to do the right thing and keep moving forward...
Glad it worked out. ;)

OP....

I would have kept those rocks too, if they wouldn't work in my fish tank, they would have lived on a window sill, bookcase shelf, or in front of the computer monitor. :P

You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......
