E10, E15 and E85 Flexfuel

My new van can run on Flexfuel so I’m reading up on the pros and cons of the different fuels. It looks like E85 has to be 20% cheaper for it to be more economical and it doesn’t like cold weather or sitting in the tank. The E15 seems to be the most economical as it gets almost the same mileage as the E10 yet is cheaper.
On the 3,200 mile round trip to Texas I averaged 20.3 mpg on E10. Not bad for a van that is listed as only getting 18 mpg.

Interesting videos.
I've always ran premium non-ethanol in my chainsaw and weed eater. Cub Cadet gets regular grade non-ethanol. Miata has had premium non-ethanol for the last few years, seems to run a little better than with premium E-10 but no difference in mileage. Poor old Ranger just gets regular E-10. Emergency generator which I've only used once will never get gasoline unless propane is not available. Propane is so much easier to store and don't have to worry about it going bad or gumming up the carb.

I had never heard that. It was fairly cold the one time we used it (but not sub-zero) and it started easily. It does have an electric starter.

Thanks. It’s like a limousine inside. The rear seat folds down into a bed.

I remember the pic you posted with the seats down. Didn’t it have a tv above the front seats? What a great idea for traveling with restless kids. I assume it would have some kind of a dvd player or digital feed.

Yes on the TV. It can be fed via satellite or blue tooth from a phone.
