557HP 2024 Chevy Blazer SS REVEALED!

Post by JEBar » Sat Feb 25, 2023 12:51 pm

shortly we will be placing an order for 2023 Chevy Blazer RS .... it will be powered by a gasoline fueled 308 hp 3.6L V6 ..... while I have absolutely NO interest in purchasing one, I do find the electric powered 557HP 2024 Chevy Blazer SS to be interesting and I'm looking forward to following its development

Where are we going to charge them across the USA. How long for a full charge to go 300 miles.

Looks a lot like a Equinox πŸ€”

I don't know about other states, but Texas has contracted with a company to install charging stations at all of its state rest areas. I don't know the progress or even if they've already begun the installations. I'm not sure how much money will be charged for the convenience. According to THD there are over 2000 charging stations in the state currently. I don't own an EV and probably will not, but I can see charging stations becoming a lot more available.

Ya Im sure its coming to most of the rest of the states since its being rammed down our throats. It just aggravates me because its just more money spent supporting the Chinese. I wont be buying one either.

How about in a remote area in the mountains. Then who wants to wait somewhere for an hour to charge the battery and then do that in another 300 miles

They never tell you about the child labor used to mine the metal used in the batteries. How about if everyone got home at night and tried to charge their vehicles, the grid would never handle it for even a whole neighborhood . Of course the power for charging doesn't come from burning fossil fuels or god forbid nuclear power. Maybe joe can just beg the Arabs for more oil, again.

historically a Blazer has been Chevy's answer to Ford's Bronco .... a vehicle designed to the capable of getting way back in the woods or deep into the wild country .... the new one is designed to be far from that .... more of a sports car SUV for someone who wants a Camaro type vehicle but has a couple of kids and can't make that work .... the power train does have an "Off Road" setting but that is defined as a good gravel road

I wonder whats going to happen to the batteries when they no longer are any good. Not to mention from what I have read is there enuf raw materials to make all these batteries. I see what they are doing with the worn out wind turbines. Stacking them up in open fields for us to enjoy the view of. I guess huge open mine pits look better that an oil well pump.

On a gravel road that is laughable.

one of the determining factors for off-road operation is ground clearance .... back in the day when I was driving a Jeep CJ 5 we liked 9 or more inches .... today's Jeep Rubicon has 10 inches their more street oriented line have 7 to 8" .... the Blazer RS has 7.6" .... what it doesn't have that is important to me is a low range transmission .... given its automatic transmission can go a long way in neutralizing the lack of low range gearing .... out west we've traveled some pretty rough gravel roads .... back home in Western NC climbing slick mud/rock grades can be a challenge .... while I'd really like to have one, I don't know of any straight mass production vehicles designed to be level 10 rock crawlers .... there is no doubt in my mind that the Blazer is more than up to handling any off-roading likely to be in my future

The Rubicon 392 has 12.9" of ground clearance (that's with the 35" tire package which is a $4000 option) and lots of other off road features like a Electronic Sway Bar Disconnect. I would love to have one but with a base price of $82,495 it's way out of my price range.

our oldest son has one that he bought 5 or 6 years ago .... it is the first and only new vehicle he has ever purchased ..... it came with a few bugs that were taken care of and is really a nice rig .... it is one of the very few rigs in mass production that is designed and built to handle what most of us old guys consider to be off road driving
