We had a 1980 Ford F150 Camper Special 4X4 with dual gas tanks, factory lift and 300 straight six made for the cab over campers. Four on the floor with that LONG goose neck shifter. Granny low was good for about ten MPH is you really pushed it. Normally you started in second gear. You could pull a stump, pull a horse trailer with two horses, or pull the house off the foundations. Gas mileage? 12mpg to 15mpg, but it was a WORKING truck. It had right at 450k on it when we finally sold it to an acquaintance at the local parts store for his son. When we moved from VA to OK, the kid was still driving it... he was 24 years old and working with dad at the parts store by that time.

We would have kept it, but we had two newer trucks. We only kept the Bubba Truck to bang into the woods. We had been using it to haul gravel and firewood, hay for the horses. We sold the horses when the girls all three moved out. We no longer had the woodstove, and weren't cutting firewood, and the guy asked every time we went in the store if we'd sell it. Finally said yes. Take care of things and they will last. (Well, the older things...)
