Class A motor home vs Wisconsin mud
I’ve had my motor home parked to the side of the driveway for about a month. I backed it from the concrete driveway so I could plink across it. I put the jack stands down in the frozen snow and ground. No problem until the frost started to thaw and my jack stands began to stink. I raised them because the tires gave a larger surface. You can see where even the tires are sinking in. I’ll have to wait for it to completely dry before I can lower the stands and let the air out of the suspension which will raise the tires so I can fill in the holes.

about 20 years ago we bought a set of Bigfoot 15″ x 15″ x 1.5″ RV Outrigger Pad .... these outrigger pads are cut from the same materials that are used with heavy duty utility trucks .... they spread the weight over an larger area which drastically reduces landing gear sinking .... ours have been heavily used and are still solid .... they were expensive back then and while I haven't looked, do believe they would be expensive today .... looking back, for us it has been money well spent

Unfortunate situation but It’s nice to have the onboard equipment available to help you out.

Gene, depends on your type of soil. Over here, it's basically sand, so things do dry out very quickly. Of course, if your driveway has a layer of clay for the sake of stabilization when it was constructed, could be longer. Also starting another drop into the deep freeze these next few days, so the ground may freeze hard enough to move your RV.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

It’s all clay. At least that is what the neighbors tell me.North Country Gal wrote: ↑Mon Apr 25, 2022 10:47 amGene, depends on your type of soil.
