My 1969 Dodge Dart GTS.........
Yep I had this one thru late 70's and up until 1990 and should have kept it. Story goes that my wife spotted it for sale sitting under a pine tree in a trailer park while on her way to work. Had the original 340 with a 4 speed and 3.23 8 3/4 posi rear and original paint with the white stripe around trunk. $500 bucks later I drove it home and this in late 1976. Over the years it was my daily driver until 1980 when we moved into new home and I would keep it in the garage while I had another daily driver.
Built up a nice 340 with a new block which was the Chrysler Race X block I got a deal on. Also included the new Chrysler W-2 race cylinder heads that were used in NASCAR on the 355 race engines and also drag race setups. Chrysler had a special sale on them for several months to move them....like $75 bucks a head!!! Of course you had to get the special rockers and shaft assembly to go with them but at a great price too. Included a very good pair of the factory HP exhaust manifolds as well. Had headers before but wanted to be "stock appearing".
Converted it to a 727 TorqFlite 3sp auto with Street Hemi convertor and a 3.91 gear with A body factory super/stock leaf springs... It ran very well!
Yep should have hung on to it but got top dollar for it back in 1990.

I had a '72 Dart but it was no muscle car: slant six, three on the tree, and a hole in the floorboard in the back so I put an old stop sign on the floor to cover it. Paid $190 for the car plus 4 extra snow tires. Ran it till it died: there was a slow leak in the oil pan and I only found out when it threw a rod and bent the crankshaft while doing 70 on the Capitol Beltway. Dumb kids don't check oil levels. LOL

Miss my ss396 69 Camaro. Got married in 70, wife kept leaving tires at every stoplight. Traded for a 71 duster with a slant six. I was traumatized. Still married to same girl! Trade was worth it in retrospect.

Nice Forty...those were the days!
Had a '69 mustang 2+2 back then. Had a stock 302, but rean pretty good. Had original style Cragers on it too. It was that medium green color. Sharp looking car, but I have no pics.

Those Darts were so adaptable. Great little runners. You had a nice one.

I also owned a 69 Dart Gt convertible. 318 auto on the console. It was a great car.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Nice sleeper Forty. With that plain exterior and the motor, tranny and gears I’m sure you embarrassed many a muscle car driver. Nice looking redlines on the subtle rims.

Had a '64 Dart coupe with 273 V8 and typewriter drive. It was totaled when I t-boned some clown that turned in front of me. He was trying to to get into a bar parking lot.
