Sounds like a great plan Jim. Let me know if and when you might visit the Moose. In the mean time, enjoy that reunion. 🙂
nothing near a serious plan but have talked about it .... might include a section of the Blue Ridge Parkway during peak color .... 8-)

as noted above, we have a 10AM appointment to do the paperwork and hopefully drive home Maureen's new Blazer .... it appears that a our tradition of having bad weather on the day we get a new car will continue .... in 2005 it rained when we got the Trailblazer we still have .... in 2011 they had to clear snow off of the the Silverado which we still have ..... in 2016 rain on the day we got Maureen's Camaro that we totaled earlier this year .... our area is in a dry spell and today they are calling for rain, wind, thunderstorms, etc .... as this is being typed, we can hear thunder in the distance

its rained and stormed most all day but she's home .... when we signed the papers she had 6 miles on the odometer, we put those on it during a test drive .... she goes back to the dealership for the ceramic coating which should take 2 days .... new cars aren't all that common in our family so when somebody has one, most of the family comes by to see it .... so far its been well received .... I sat through the demo but have already figured out, I need a refresher class

thanks .... we do think it turned out nice .... once they get it ceramic coated, it should really shine ..... prior to this Blazer we've only owned one red vehicle .... it was a 1978 Jeep J10 pickup that we kept for 24 years

I can imagine, my newest ever car is my 2006 Miata which has a 366 page owner's manual and it's not that complicated being a base model without a lot of extras. My friend has a 2014 Dodge Dart with a 656 page pdf owner's manual.

Very nice and Maureen’s smile says it all.

Amazing the difference between this Blazer and the original.

Congratulatioins Jim. I hope Maureen likes it as much or more as the Camero.

I agree, it's a long journey from the original blazers.

she's really opened up and has become very comfortable with it .... our wreck earlier this year that destroyed her Camaro affected her ..... for that reason, I've seen to it that she's driven it every inch so far .... I haven't so much as sat in the driver's seat .... its been great seeing her work her way out of being apprehensive about driving .....

we are taking Maureen's Blazer back to the dealership where a local independent contractor will pick it up and take it to be ceramic coated .... this will be a first for us ..... our vehicles sit outside 24/7 ..... modern paint seems to be able to withstand the weathering over time better than it did years ago .... red paint has been prone to fading over time and we would like to keep it looking new for as long as possible with minimal effort .... should be an interesting experiment

no need, its a nice looking rig but time will tell if it has "gutz" as well as glitz .... we just dropped it off to be taken for the ceramic coating .... we don't expect to get it back until Monday evening

per Car and Driver Magazine

"Ceramic coatings offer a better level of protection against environmental hazards and damage from the sun's UV rays than traditional wax. They also offer resistance to chemical stains and a certain degree of scratch resistance, giving the car a high-gloss finish and making it easier to clean."

Yes, and I would do the same for a new vehicle.
