Just returned from the Bahamas

Post by daytime dave » Tue Feb 07, 2017 7:19 pm

I spent most of last week and yesterday in the Bahamas. It was a well needed rest and relaxation opportunity. It was beautiful and restful. I was also very physically active, if that makes sense.

We were at Sandals Emerald Bay, on Great Exuma, Bahamas. It was heaven on earth.

We lacked for nothing. If you didn't get it, it was your fault. It was there in great quantities and extreme quality.

A few quick photos and then I'm going to try to catch up on sleep. We got in last night around 2345 hrs. I had to work this morning.

Great photos, Iguana's and all. I am so glad that you could get away to a beautiful vacation. Looks like a very nice resort.

Dave, so glad you got away for some R&R in such a beautiful place. Thanks, too, for sharing those photos. Seems like another planet compared to our far north landscape, right now. Not that I don't love our north woods in the winter - very special place for me - but there's something I love about the ocean and the beach. All so very calming.

That looks wonderful, Dave. It's a tough life, but I suppose somebody has to do it. ;)

Les, I met a great couple from the UK while taking an exercise course in the main pool. Unfortunately, my old iPhone 4 took most of the course with me. A couple days in a bag of rice didn't do anything to help it. I'm glad it was my spare, lol.

The pigs swim out to meet you. We fed them hot dogs. They swarm you. The guides tell you not to put your fingers too close. The guides slop them after you interact with them. They are well taken care of. They have a huge island to roam. I've said it before jokingly, but I was really in pig heaven for a little while.

I normally don't like sitting on the beach, but this was a whole different experience. I am always up at six am anyway, so I went and reserved either a beach tiki or a pool cabana. The cabana's were awesome. Each had two adjustable loungers and a table, ceiling fan and a table and chairs outside for meals. If you reserved it in the morning, it was yours all day. I was able to leave my personal items there while we went for lunch, etc. The cabana's were closer to the bar. I probably warmed up to the ocean because the beach had wifi and after a Johnny Walker black & water, what could be better? I caught up on sleep. I'm giving the iPhone 4 one last chance. I'm about to go down and disassemble it and see if there is any reserve water. A few days disassembled with packets of desiccant and we'll see what's up. I have plenty more photographs that I'll post later.
