California trip

Whew, back home again. My wife, two dogs and myself just returned from a 9 day trip from Washington St to Southern California. We drove the motorhome so we could bring the dogs along. Man, way too much driving and not enough toursting. Not sure on the total miles but in the 2500 neighborhood. Three days down, three days there and three days home. Purpose of the trip was to visit kids/grandkids, see their new beach home and do a motorhome long trip shake down towing the jeep. Shakedown went great with no problems with anything. Visit with the kids was wonderful.
Here’s a few pictures.
This is the beach home they just purchased. They are having a major remodel done, new roof, all new flooring, new kitchen and bathroom and converting the garage to a third bedroom. I haven’t seen before pics yet but I understand it was pretty neglected. It’s a very small home nestled in a bunch of huge big dollar homes. The kids selected this one as directly across the road there is a gap in the homes giving the a nice ocean view. And also from the front of the home looking left there is a wide view of the Pacific that will never be built in due to rock outcropping. Plus the community has its own private beach which is one of only three in the state according to my stepson. Their house is the small one with the yellow van in front. This was Saturday and there were a half dozen workers there.
This are the views I mentioned.
My stepson, granddaughter, Trey and Glen the dogs and myself on a beach walk.
As Dorothy said (three times), “there’s no place like home”.
