North to Alaska

Post by Sir Henry » Sun Aug 28, 2022 4:59 pm

I fly up to Fairbanks on Thursday for six days, three of which will be camping in the wild and hunting fowl.

My friend in the Army was stationed in Texas is now in Alaska. Prior to Texas he was in Montana (excluding overseas deployments) so I once again will be able to shoot some full-auto.

Rat-a-tat-tat.

I don’t own a suitable bear gun and if I did I couldn’t easily fly with it. My friend will provide the shotgun and a suitable sidearm for where we are going.

I figured I’d get more hits with that subject over “I’m flying to Alaska”’

Two hours to takeoff. This is the first legacy flight I’ve taken since 9/11. I’ve flown maybe a dozen times since but all have been regional and on float planes. Gotta love a Beaver and Otter. Isn’t this a 737 which was grounded up till a few months ago?

Not all 737s. Just the Max. And they are rolling them back out now.
Bon voyage buddy. Good hunting.

Thanks I flew on a 737-900ER. Nice plane and the security was a breeze. Touched down 30 minutes ago.

My friend shot three and I shot two sand hill cranes. Ribeye in the sky.
