Ive only read about one place so far and that was Washington State in the Tri Cities area. There were 10 stations there that were out of gas
Ironic the second highest gas tax state is out.

today's drive was considerably shorter than yesterday and much closer to what we prefer .... 296.2 miles covered in 5 hrs 31 min .... we are now setup at Duck Creek RV Park, Paducah, Kentucky ====> https://duckcreekrv.com/ .... its hot and dry .... if the forecast holds true, we have a good chance of arriving during steady waves of thunderstorms passing through Columbia, MO after another 300 mile drive .... during today's drive we happened on bad accident .... a truck hauling a load of fertilizer dumped its load which a group of motorcycles, at least 6 bikes were wrecked .... one big bike was really torn up .... no clue as to how the driver is doing but from looking at the bike, we fear for the worst

as forecasted, today's 314.8 mile drive took us through several bands of rain .... it took us 5 hrs 32 minutes .... while the rain was heavy at times, no lightening seen, no thunder heard .... thankfully no wrecks but plenty of construction that backed up traffic to a crawl .... we are now setup in a very wet Cottonwood's RV Park in Columbia, MO (pictures below) ===> https://cottonwoodsrvpark.com/ .... more rain and thunderstorms are in the forecast for this afternoon and overnight thankfully, all rain should have moved out well before we have to break camp in the morning .... trees are blocking our satellite TV signal, so it will be movie night .. :D .. so far we've covered 1029.9 miles in 18 hrs 8 min driving time ....

today's 272 mile drive is scheduled to be our shortest of the trip .... it will take us from central Missouri to north of Kansas City .... we plan to fill the truck today because this area has the lowest diesel prices of any we will see on this trip .... after yesterday we are happy to see no rain in the forecast .... KC is the last major city we will have to deal with and for us that's a good thing

thankfully, day 4's drive went well .... beautiful, cool weather .... we covered 292.1 miles in 5 hrs 18 months with 2 fuel stops .... the first stop was just west of Columbia, MO at a Love's Truck Stop were we only took on 10 gallons .... the reason for the stop was to ensure we had sufficient fuel to make a Petro Truck Stop in Oak Grove, MO where the price was much better .... at that second stop we 82.7 gallons .... over the 727.7 miles we had covered since our last filled our tank we averaged 8.8 mpg .... we are now setup at Victorian Acres RV Park in Nebraska City, NE ===> https://victorianacresrvpark.com/ where we will spend our last night of this year's drive to South Dakota .... the weather for tomorrow's drive looks good

at this point in our lives, it works well for us .... prior to retirement when vacation time was limited, we were forced to travel much longer each day .... with that no longer being the case, we've slowed down
