Post by JEBar » Thu Oct 07, 2021 11:21 am

once again, we are packing to spend a weekend with our camping club at Carolina Crossroads ====> http://033b649.netsolhost.com/ .... rain is called for today; along with, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday as well .. .. when I went out to crank our Sportchassis this morning, I found its new batteries are dead .... the local garage that takes care of it for us .... they came over, jumped it off and its now in the shop .... sure glad I didn't wait until time to hookup tomorrow to crank it .. ;) .. looking forward to getting back to the Roanoke Rapids area

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

our camper is 16 years old and our Sportchasis is 14 years old ..... some of our other equipment if 5 to 10 years older and has been well used .... we do the best we can maintain it .... the reality is, the older our gear gets, the better job we have to do in preventative maintenance ....the only thing left on our list before we head for Texas in January is to replace the truck's 4 rear tire ....they are 22.5's and don't come cheap

I hear ya. My Dodge is a 2006 so Im on it all the time to try and make it the best it can be. I dont like breaking down on the road its not fun. Our camper is new but even new stuff can break. There isnt any guarantees. Last report I had tires for big trucks were in the 600.00 a piece range. No telling where they are at now. Its a high ouch factor on the pocket book for sure.

well, following a thorough check, our truck is back .... apparently a door or something was left on and over several days pulled the batteries down .... they have been recharged and all seems to be OK .... sure hope so
