Re: 2021 Trip To South Dakota
like all of the ones before it, our last day in Estelline for this year's trip in has passed all tooooo quickly .... all that remains for in the morning is to unhook the utilities and hookup to our camper .... once again we are hauling South Dakota steaks back home .... at just over $3,000 the combined total cost for this year's steaks has set a new record .... for our first day's drive we hope to get on the road about 9AM.... per Google Maps tomorrow's drive should take 4 hr 21 min to cover the 303 miles .... the reality is, with one planned fuel stop and my current physical condition, I'm pretty sure it will take longer

Drive safe. Better hire an armed guard for the meat locker

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Re: 2021 Trip To South Dakota
while in Estelline we put 1,3467 non-towing miles on our truck .... today's drive from Estelline to Nebraska City took us 6 hrs to cover 322.8 miles .... the further south we traveled, the higher the heat and humidity ... setting up wasn't anything unusual but its been a long time since doing so required so much sweat ..... a couple of minutes later, I heard one of those comments that I flat out didn't want to hear .... "the frig isn't working " .... first thing I did was to pull the lower outside vent .... thankfully no yellow stains or sulfur smell ... all electrical connections looked good .... next, checked the 20 amp, 12V fuse and it was blown .... I had one ... after installing it all was good .... I then cranked the truck and used our Garmin to find an auto parts .... a good supply is now on hand ..

Maureen was just trying to help you with your BP. When you mention the price of the meat I can relate. I just called the packing house 30 miles east of me a day ago. I was checking on some cuts of meat as we wanted them cut thicker than what we had been buying over the counter. Last time down there ribeye steaks were 18.95 a lb. They are the equivalent to what Sams sells here locally in their prime meat case. I asked what the current price was. 26.50 a lb was the response. I realize alot of things have gone up but I found that price was a little over the top. So I passed on buying anymore for the time being.
