The extra cash is going out the tailpipe rather than up in smoke with a matchstick perhaps. I for one am glad around here as I have heard a few but not like last year when the 4th starts on June 15th and doesnt end till July 15th. Our animals do not like the fireworks at all. They dont bother me on the 4th as I like the displays. Have a great fourth Jim

64 on its way to 81 later today .... looks like we've missed a morning thunder storm that moved through just south of us .... other cells are in the area so we may have a chance later this morning ..... our plan to have 4 family members join us for breakfast has been delayed for an hour to allow this weather system to move on .... yep, as this is being typed rain is coming down .... nothing else on tap for today

around 4AM a thunderstorm rolled in and is still hanging on .... this is the first significant rain we've seen in the month we've been in South Dakota .... a family breakfast set for 9AM is on hold .... for the first time this year, right after dark last night fireworks could be heard in all directions .... with the area being so dry, that was a concern which has totally been alleviated ....

I really dislike fireworks. If you want to see bombs bursting in air join the Army like I did. I guess when you’ve seen the real thing playing doesn’t have much appeal. Sorry to rain on your parade.

summer heat has returned for the 4th in east central South Dakota .... 92 with a RealFeel® of 98° .... we enjoyed a hamburger cookout with family for lunch .... tonight will be leftovers .... we highly recommend Green Mountain Grills baked bean recipe ===> https://greenmountaingrills.com/reci...t-baked-beans/ .... see post in this thread ===> http://henryrifleforums.com/viewtopic.p ... 8e#p202087 .... last night we were pretty well surrounded by small neighborhood fireworks displays .... not much have been staged today but that will probably pickup around dark .... no large commercial shows scheduled anywhere nearby ....

I was going into town to a street fair but it’s raining hard so I’m going to stay home.

we haven't cranked our truck in several days and may well not do so for a couple more .... its a 40+ mile round trip to the nearest large shopping area so we are trying to make our trips count

I make a 28 miles round trip for a latte almost everyday. Today I’ll pick up diesel for the tractor too.

Gene, got to get your daily latte. Lucky for us it a 10 minute drive at 35 mph to get a great latte. :)

with our Sportchassis getting 8 to 10 mpg and the price of diesel, minimizing trips has become second nature

Accuweather pretty well summed it up this morning ===> "Humid in the morning, partly sunny; a severe p.m. t-storm; thunderstorms can bring a significant threat for damaging wind gusts" .... at 8AM its already up to 77 with a projected high of 85 (RealFeel® 93°) .... we brought the material to recover our camper's kitchen chairs with us and today may well be the day we undertake on this project

overcast sky, 77 degrees on its way to 81, good chance of afternoon/evening thunderstorms .... we anticipate making a grocery shopping, 40+ mile round trip drive today .... just received a call from RV Armor ====> https://rv-armor.com/ .... as promised, they should be here late tomorrow .... they project taking care of our camper under warranty on Thursday ....

a clear blue sky has returned, 79 as this is being typed, forecasted high 83, 5 to 8 mph winds .... awaiting the arrival of a fellow from RV Armor who is due sometime in the mid afternoon .... the usual morning friends/relatives who stop by for coffee have come and gone .... a fellow who works for Estelline started mowing this morning .... if he gets to our area today, I will need to pull out a weed eater to trim around our site .... our next event is to entertain some family members for breakfast in the morning

as scheduled, a fellow from RV Armor arrived at our site in Estelline, SD .... he towed is rig from Minneapolis, set it up on an adjoining site and went to work .... about 4 hours later he finished the job .... he was a pleasure to work with and knows his business .... it was once again really nice to be able to have them come to a site convenient for us

69 on its way to 80 later today with no chance of rain .... nothing on our schedule for today .... we are trying to take care of some medical issues so that's a good thing .... next up, a family reunion this weekend that is bringing folks in from several states .... our 6 site campground once again has 4 empty sites .... high fuel prices has really reduced the number of folks using this campground

another beautiful morning in the neighborhood .... 74 on its way to 85 with little, if any, chance of rain .... a caution has been posted to "watch for a strong afternoon thunderstorm; storms can bring flash flooding and damaging winds" .... no plans to leave town today, very likely to do so tomorrow
