the camper is a 2006 and the truck is a 2007 .... the camper has been in all of the lower 48 states and the truck has been to most of them .... as can be seen below, at one time it was even longer ... a few years back we towed a golf cart on a trailer behind our camper .... the reason we stopped doing so is the wide differences in towing laws of the various states .... since then we carry a 160 qt. Yeti cooler on a carrier on the back of our camper
Great looking rig. Looking at you travel schedule and what you drive / pull is what I want to get to in my career and be mobile and still work. Would love to be able to homeschool my kids and take them on the road to see sights of the lower 48 + Canada.

kind words appreciated ....I suspect that many folks who haven't been exposed to full timing might be surprised at just how many people are doing so .... large numbers of retired, people who work on jobs that require travel, young families who are able to work from their campers while they homeschool their children with travel experiences .... I'd go full time in a nanosecond but my wife will not .... spring and fall are beautiful times of the year in our part of NC so we spend those seasons at home .... we spend our winters in Texas and our summers in my wife's home area in South Dakota ....

Y'all have winter in Texas? I lived in Louisiana for five years. People talked about "winter," but I think it was just something imaginary. :)

we've been in Texas for three weeks and so far, so good .... in year's past we've sat in our camper in this same campground and been iced in .... temps were so low for so many hours that the CG's water pipes froze, as did water lines in RV's that weren't built to handle it .... we most certainly wish it was like this every year .... we were iced in at home to where we got on the road to come to Texas 4 days later than scheduled .... thankfully, they haven't had a repeat of that type of weather since we left

earlier today we moved a hundred and twenty some miles from Thousand Trails Lake Conroe Campground (CG) in Wills, TX to Thousand Trails Colorado River CG near Columbus, TX .... we are scheduled to be here for two weeks and really enjoy this part of the country .... the first 3 pictures show our site .... its on the highest part of the CG the second 3 pictures show our view over looking large fields on 3 sides ... the last picture shows a tiny part of the deer herd that inhabits this area .... the campers that can be seen in the distance are located on/very close to the Colorado River

two beautiful weeks at Colorado River passed all too quickly .... thankfully, in spite of today's weather conditions, our drive back to their Lake Conroe CG was reasonably uneventful .... well, uneventful for us, we lost most of an hour sitting in stopped traffic, North of Houston, out on I-45 .... unfortunately, according to the CB chatter and seeing the number of ambulances at the wreck, I would be surprised if serious, if not fatal injuries, were involved .... distant flashes of lightening began sometime after midnight .... some time later a steady roll of thunder could be heard and shortly thereafter the rain and wind set in .... for those who have been following this storm, its the one that brought flooding to California and tornadoes to San Antonio .... it was raining as we broke camp, rained every inch of the drive, rained as we setup here at Conroe and is still raining right now .... its supposed to hang around all night and into tomorrow morning .... the first 4 pictures show the flooded section of the road out of Colorado River .... yesterday afternoon no water was flowing under the bridge .... the next 3 pictures were taken out of our camper's door on our current site .... this week we hope to get a replacement frig installed in our camper and pickup several family firearms that have been with a Texas gunsmith for the last few weeks .... really looking forward to getting our Henry 45-70 and the others back .... looking forward to getting it back on the range on Wednesday

the rain has moved east and left us with a beautiful day in the neighborhood .... we completed our setup and are pretty much settled in for the next 3 weeks .... unfortunately, the frig mentioned above is out of stock so we can't replace the one in our camper until Thursday of next week .... not a big deal, more of an inconvenience .... ammo and hearing protection packed for tomorrow's trip to pick up our Henry and others that we've had upgraded .... it appears the weather should be good .... we had to retire the flag we have flown for the last few years, it had finally reached the point where my wife couldn't mend it .... we left it at Colorado River where local Boy Scouts will give it a proper end .... we hope our new one will fly for a good while

it is noticeably bigger than our last one .... I am concerned that on windy days it may put too much stress on our flagpole .... I tend to believe it will be taken down much more often
