What was the name of the place you had the sandwich at Paul? If you get a chance on the way home take the other route that takes you to Sheridan via Shell Canyon out of Greybull.

We had lunch at the Ten Sleep Saloon in Ten Sleep, WY. There’s only one road that runs through the middle of town. It’s a real cowboy saloon. We had a talk with the owner and she told us they have a lot of hard working ranchers and cowboys that need a good meal.

Day 8

Finally made it to Yellowstone. I am in awe at the size and beauty of the park. We entered through the east entrance and it is over 100 miles just to get to Old Faithful. We only covered about 1/3 of the grand loop. We’ll be back for more. Below are just some of the pictures I took.

I’m as green (with envy) as the grasses in your pics. Beautiful and hopefully the weather continues in your favor.

Day 9

Today we road Beartooth Pass out of Red Lodge, MT. Then followed the route into Cooke City, MT. Beartooth is amazing. It usually closed after October 15 and doesn’t reopen until the Friday after Memoral Day. Top of Beartooth was 10949 ft. A little chilly there.

After lunch in Cooke City we headed out on the one and only road back toward Beartooth. The only turnoff was for Chief Joseph Scenic Parkway toward Cody, WY. This is a fantastic and scenic road. Only tops out a little over 8000 ft, but the view are phenomenal.

This may be my last major trip on two wheels. We are now on our return leg and just did a 550 mile day. My old body is yelling at me to stop beating it up, but I still have 3 more days ahead. We stopped for tonight in Ogallala, NE. Next leg takes us to Blue Springs, MO.

I more pictures to post and some videos, but all that has to wait till home. Posting from a iPhone is no easy.

Just landed in Shelbyville, KY for the night. Last leg of the trip home tomorrow. My butt is dragging from all the time in the saddle. Can’t wait to get home, shower, have a good meal and sleep in my own bed. 😀😀😀

Paul.

Oh yes, I understand getting back to the comfort zone.
Was a good trip though sounds like for the most part, I know you posted about at least one rain period.
Hopefully the last leg is as safe as the rest of the trip.

Hats off to you and your riding partner for taking on this size of a trip. Why is it we always look equally forward to the trip out and the trip back home? (rhetorical question of course)

I know the feeling about getting back home after my long trips. About half way on the trips my butt is asking "whose f***king idea was this". :D

When I did it for a living leaving out week after week got harder and harder as I got older. Driving 700 miles a day or more and now when I travel its a real struggle to do 350 pulling the trailer
