Re: 2025 Summer Trip to Estelline, SD
our local RV mobile mechanic just left .... as noted above, our last club campout showed us that our camper needed some serious attention ....
1. his biggest job was to replace the kitchen slide out motor .... doing so requires removal and reinstalling a section our underbelly material .... not a complicated task butd one that requires careful work to make sure the underbelly material is sealed and not allow water thrown up by the tires to leak into the underbelly ....
2. diagnose and subsequently replace the camper's computer module that controls the gas/electric water heater
3. replace the camper toilet's pressure relief flush valves .... doing so required complete removal and later reinstall of the toilet .... with rusted nuts and bolts breaking off, another time consuming task
4. installing a "signal repeater" for our truck's new tire pressure monitoring system
5. replacing a screen door latch, on/off light switch for the 12v fixture over the camp's kitchen table, and replacing two sliding glass shower door handles in our daughter's camper
6 water sealing a section of our camper's bedroom slide floor
7. taking care of some wiring that was on its way to failing
in short, he really worked hard .... he plans to come back Wednesday of next week to continue taking care of issues

Re: 2025 Summer Trip to Estelline, SD
pre-trip camper repairs continue .... this morning we completed the replacement of some bad wood in a wall of our camper's kitchen slide-out .... that was a critical repair .... the only good thing in the rain that is supposed to move in tomorrow afternoon and hang around for most of the next day .... have to admit that I'm kind of holding my breath about it .... we still have a couple of other irritating glitches that we want to have taken care of, hopefully that will be completed next week .... they say one definition of a boat is "a hole in the water to throw money in" .... a similar comment could be made about campers .... our Sunnybrook was built in 2005 so we've been using it for 20 years .... its been (and still is) a good one .... most years we've spent little to nothing for repairs but, as noted, this is a year where we've had to take care of some expensive issues .... oh well, if it wasn't for our camper, there is no way we could afford spend three or so weeks out west

taken from post 1 in this thread ====> "Saturday - May 31 .... Fifth Day's Drive -- Onawa to Estelline, SD .... 2 hr 46 min .... 198 miles .... reserved 4-22-25" .... in short, right now we should be breaking camp for our final day's drive of this year's trip to Estelline .... do we miss it, most certainly .... oh well, we can still hope for better times down the road
