I can certainly relate, because of the limitations I'm personally realizing are a reality now. Birthdays have never really bothered me until my recent 70-year milestone. Where did the years go. It has me thinking a lot about the future.

I lost my mother this past Wednesday which has reminded me of just how short life is.

I know how much you and Maureen enjoy your camping/traveling Jim. I hope you are both able to find joy in other ways and
that turning the page opens up a wonderful new chapter for you.
Sorry for the loss of Mom Mark. That’s one I have never gotten over.

You have my deepest sympathy RR. It's a very difficult thing to accept.

Thanks to all. It was not my intention to draw any attention away from JEBar's thread. After reading his post, it just wanted to come out. I didn't really want to devote a thread to it.

Condolences are much appreciated...

As for camping, Jim get yourself a little wedge tent.
- sets up in 5 min
- no running water so nothing to freeze up
- no harm done if you fall out of bed, you’re already on the ground
- everything you need fits on your packhorse including the wife if necessary

:)

Sorry to hear the news Jim but it sounds like you are making the hard decision. We will miss you posts about your trips west and the best to you staying in the North Carolina weather in the summer. Hopefully you can still make short trips and continue to enjoy your RV.

support appreciated .... as several have noted, time has a way of sneaking up on all of us .... we most certainly do plan to continue camping close to home and with our club
