Re: Hearing aids
That adjustment to drown out some of the background noise is important to me because like sitting at a table in a restaurant , I could not even understand the person next to me or across from me because of the background noise. Not all hearing aids offer that so ask your questions when you see the specialist.Sir Henry wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 10:56 amThat is what I need.Team Roper wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 7:04 amAfter my VA hearing aids kicked the bucket, I decided to buy my own since the drive to the VA Hospital for repairs as an all day affair. Re: Hearing aids
I just got mine replaced after 3 years. They are rechargeable and came with a remote which I promptly lost. They are adjustable with the ear controls. They are not perfect but they are free.

Re: Hearing aids
Did not want the rechargeable units, if I forget or the recharger dies then I would be screwed. Batteries are cheap. They are about 25 cents each and last 7-10 days. I specified being able to eliminate background noise as those work the best for me but I will find out Wednesday what was ordered. I have 6 months to decide whether to keep or not. They have blue tooth which I need to hear the phone ring and I enjoy walking around stores talking on the phone without taking it out of my pocket with the sound coming through the aids. People are never sure if I am talking to them or just off my meds but they usually just leave me alone.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Re: Hearing aids
Picked up the new aids today. Going to have to do some reading to understand all the features. I can program background noise reduction and many other things using my phone. Great sound and good comprehension for me. Every time I get new aids I realize how noisy I am and that everything around me makes even more noise. For $1500 I am impressed, or will be as soon as I can figure them out.

Is the $1500 price for one or two aids?Ernie wrote: ↑Wed Nov 04, 2020 8:14 pmPicked up the new aids today. Going to have to do some reading to understand all the features. Re: Hearing aids
That price is for 2 hearing aids, it was $1499.99 out the door for the Phonak KS 9.0. They have other aids available depending on your needs. I have about 54% hearing loss so I need some good help. This is my 3rd set with Costco and they are the best set yet and pretty user friendly. My only real complaint is that so many people are going to Costco for aids it takes a couple weeks to get a hearing test but they can get you in for help quicker and my data says these aids can be reprogrammed over my phone if necessary.

Re: Hearing aids
My hearing aids come from the VA free. I'm on my 3rd set. They work fine for me. I'll never forget the first time I went in the woods with them on. It sounded like the birds were tweeting in all caps.
They are not rechargeable, have to replace the batteries about once a week, All batts & acces. are free, shipped from VA.
If you're a Vet, you need to check into that. Nothing to lose.

I rarely ever buy a rifle, but when I do, it's a Henry.
