Oliver is a good old brand from way back.

They made some cool tractors.

I especially like the 99 with the Detroit Powered Diesel.

biglever, what engine is in your 550 ?

It came in gas or diesel,
Mine is the gas, which was made by Oliver and Waukesha together.
I tore it down and had the head sent out for a valve job.
I use it yr round snow plowing, brushhoging , land plowing
Cultivating, etc.

That's a great Oliver. Nice photographs.

Our neighbor growing up had a couple Olivers and the rest Allis Chalmers. Great farm tractors. Around our area, a lot of the older farmers likened them to Cadillac's. I've never owned either one, just driven a few of each on occasion. Can't say if it's really true or not.

Cool! I love old tractors. I used to have an old Fordson Major, and it probaly had more hours on it than Methuselah, but it never missed a beat.

Turned over a food plot for the critters ,last week, got it all done in one day mowed it first, then plowed, then put the disks on, seeded it, then covered the seed. Started at 06:45 am. Finished at 15:45.

Looks good.

Lots of times it's more work changing the equipment than it is using it, lol.

That's why I would like to have at least 3 tractors, lol.

ain't that the truth ..... I doubt I'll ever buy another tractor, the one we have should last longer than I will .... but, one of those new ones with the easy to hookup attachments would sure be nice
