You want hear me complain much about the cold here. The heat and humidity in the summertime is what’s tough for me nowadays.

Got the garden planted yesterday. Least I hope it's planted. Planter was wanting to act up on me. 4 rows of Mississippi top pick cream, and 2 rows of Dixie butter peas.

It looks pretty good there. Glad to hear and see the garden is in.
I've got to wait a bit for the two gardens to dry out a bit before tilling them. I managed to get all my plowing done at my place in my upper planting area. I did till the step son's garden while we had a dry spell. It didn't take long, just about 45 minutes.

No vegetable garden here. Gave up years ago. By the time it drys out enough to til, it's too late to start growing anything. Now the space is used for beehives. It's a barter arrangement. Beekeeper has another place for bees in exchange for a few jars of Honey each fall.

Agree with that. Fine if you enjoy it and the canning/preserving it requires but it's a lot of work that I don't want to do for vegetables I can buy at the store or Farmer's Market. I do like non-store bought tomatoes so I have a SunGold tomato plant by my back porch and will pick some larger tomatoes from the garden my friend plants on my property.

I'm the last of the breed for gardening around here. The younger folks ain't gonna do it, and I'm about to get where I'm not able. This could be my last year for a decent size garden. I'll probably keep planting a few tomatoes, squash, peppers and cucumbers. No row crops.

I want to expand my garden, but may just rearrange what I put where. This weekend is supposed to be nice, so I'll finish my plowing and rototill the gardens. If I have time, I'll get some discing done. I have lettuce in raised beds coming up now.

I've been downsizing for the last 10 years. Going from acres to sq. ft. Plus putting up a fence good and high enough to keep out the deer.

Been getting some light rain most days this week. Last night got a 1/4". Here's a picture of the garden.
