graywolf,
The garden gun is perfect for a garden. I dispatched a small garden raider recently with it. My garden is far enough from my house and the neighbors that I could use a .410 if I wanted to, but the .22 shot shells work great. The lever action is simple and easy. I like the fact the ash is grainy so I can identify it easily from a few of the other lever actions. I also have been using the shot shells in my model 63's for snake and meadow mole work. I was amazed at how well they do from the revolvers. The two inch is so handy to carry in my shorts pocket while mowing the lawn, etc.
The Craftsman is 1989 or 1991. I will have to check the serial number again. I love the older Craftsman Garden tractors. They are easy to work on and not expensive to pick up. This one has been a favorite since I picked it up. I like the geared over the hydro units.

I carry a NAA revolver about all the time. Summer time, I load it with 3 regular rounds and 2 shot shells. In the garden and cutting grass is when I see the most snakes.

I had a 88 or 89 model. I used it to help clear this place off when we moved here. I also bought and still have the sleeve hitch and garden attachments. I still use the garden implements, except now I use a 2015 Craftsman G8400 Pro Series garden tractor. It has a 54" deck for the grass cutting.

I have a sleeve hitch mount that is supposed to work with the lifting lever. I haven't installed it yet as I use the mower for some areas in the pasture and haven't needed my sleeve hitch items that much.

Three hills of potatoes. I think for three hills it's a good yield.

Tina planted a nice garden in the old chicken run. It was inside, protected from all the wildlife, including the birds. She got over zealous and put too many rows too close together and they shaded each other. Not enough sun and they didn't produce. She went back in and pulled up every other row and tossed the plants, except the ones safe for livestock. Those plants the cows happily turned to fertilizer after "natural processing." Her salvage plan must have come too late, as the only plants that produced were the tomatoes. She got some nice ones... but nowhere near what she should have. She will rethink her garden plans.

Her fruit trees were raided by crows again this year. As soon as the small fruit shows up, the huge Jurassic Crows show up. Pears all turned to bird poo. Kinda funny really.

BTW, great garden Dave.
