Farmall 560 Restoration

Post by TheBackyardRange » Sun Dec 05, 2021 2:44 pm

Got a 58’ Farmall 560 I’ve been working on. Since there’s a section in this forum for this kind of stuff, I guess I can share the ongoing progress. The tractor itself is nearing completion but not quite there. After it’s done, I have a loader that’s going on it that also has to be restored. Overall, it wasn’t in terrible shape. Exhaust pipe was rigged on, someone broke the key off in the ignition and had no brakes. All but the exhaust manifold has been fixed. I replaced the muffler but I’m not willing to pull those manifold bolts out until I have to.

This was the tractor the day I bought it home

These are a couple pics of what she looks like now. I’m not a stickler for “Authentic”, just so she runs good and looks good doing it.

Working tractor. I get some flack for going through all the trouble of restoration but there’s no reason you can’t look good while working… it was buy an older one and restore it or buy a new one. I’ve got a little over 5k in this so I’m happy.

Yep, old don’t mean “don’t work”.

Love to see someone with real skill bring back an old tractor. Those old machines were made to work and last. Good job!

That's a great looking tractor. You did a fine job on the restoration. I'm glad to hear it's still going to get to work.

That's why I made this section. As you can see, more than one of us appreciates tractors. We especiall like to see the great work you have done restoring yours.
