There's a huge patch of wild blackberries on the hillside across the creek from me. Very good but difficult to pick, very nasty thorns compared to domestic berries and some of the berries can be as black as the ripe ones but still be hard as a rock. Can only pick around the edges so the birds get most of them.

I got two big hand fulls of berries without trying a few days ago. I ate one and put the other in the refrigerator until I was done working for the day. I stopped by the dairy and picked up a pint of vanilla and shared the berries and ice cream with the better half. She didn't see them and it was a nice treat after dinner.

Tina has made some cobbler with blueberries, blackberries, and peaches in the last couple weeks. Not good for my diet, but OH so good. :P

I’m going to have huckleberries this year. This will be the fifth summer for them.

A bit of the recent bounty. Missing is the five gallon pail of zucchini. Who cares about that. The garden is starting to pay off a bit early in my opinion, but I'll take it.
