Yes it did, although the wheel kept locking up every few feet. I did find the problem after I was done. A pea seed somehow got crunched and got under the seed plate causing the wheel to turn harder and lock up every few feet. About as aggravating as my old tractor planters used to be at times.

The garden looks great. Planters are finicky sometimes.

I just put my potatoes in one of the gardens.

I been using drip irrigation last several years. Didn't this time. I'll see how that works out.

Got 1-1/2" rain yesterday and today. This may be last decent rain we get for a while. Usually turns hot and dry in June. The growing May slow down but the peas usually handle drought pretty good. We will see with no irrigation this time.

It has been an unusually dry spring here. I started planting some of my garden on April 13th. Waited until May 5th to plant tomatoes and peppers.
I have been watering almost every day for the last two weeks. We need rain very bad but not much chance for at least another week. Temperature hit 90 today.

Looking at your bottom picture, don't look like you will be hurting for corn.

This may be the best picture of the peas for a while. It's dry. Most years we don't get much rain in June.

Being the reverse in seasons I pulled what was left of my summer veggies early May after the first heavy frost had killed everything.
I decided to do a little experiment with my Jalapenos before the frosts hit dug up 3 and put them into pots. 2 of them went on the back covered deck and one in the house. The one in the house is doing fantastic, one near the edge of the deck is looking very sad with wilted leaves and the one against the house wall a little better but still frost effected. Those left in the garden were done after the first few frosts.
If I can get the one in the house to survive the winter will put it back in the garden in spring and see if I can get a Jalapeno tree next summer instead of a bush.
Have a few winter vegies in just cabbage, sprouts, cauliflower broccoli and lots of lettuce. Planted some loose leaf lettuce about 6 years ago, I let some of them run to seed each crop and they have continued to self sow year round ever since. Usually have hundreds of seedlings every few months and it is just a matter of digging up as many as I want and replanting them where I want them.

I've never planted any cool or cold weather veggies. I say each year I am but just never do. If I want to keep planting a garden, I may have to reverse course and plant a winter garden. I can't handle the summer heat like I used to.

I didn't lay drip tape this time. Said I wasn't gonna water. If it makes it makes and if it don't it don't. But it's dry. Had an old sprinkler in storage shed so I hooked it up this afternoon.

We had that week of bad weather. The peas got laid over pretty good but back up looking pretty good now. I think this picture was taken on the 1st, and I picked half a 5 gal. bucket yesterday afternoon.

Looks great. My mother would make peas and new potatos in a sauce. Boy was it good.

Picked over peas 3 times. Put up 14 ( quart) bags so far. The butter peas at top are loaded. Will be picking them by this weekend.

Well, got the first crop taken care of. Got everything pulled, hauled off and ready for a late planting if I want to. Had a good turnout of the peas and butter beans, so I'm thinking I may not plant a second crop. Between cleaning up after storms a few weeks ago, and the garden, this heat has about got to me. I got a week or so to decide.

I usually plant a second crop of peas towards end of July. But had a good yield, plus still have bags in freezer from last year. Don't think I'm gonna do it this year. I am thinking about experimenting with planting a couple hills of squash and cucumbers, just to see if it would do anything this late in the summer. Couple hills each would be easy and wouldn't be lost much if they don't do good.
