I'm thinking of getting a .22 and was looking at Henry's. It's funny that a nice .22 costs more then my 45-70 but I don't know what's going into all that price wise. anyone have a favorite among the Henry .22 line up?

I have several. I have the older Oct barrel with large loop lever that I like but the small game carbine in either barrel length is a great choice in my opinion. The Golden Boy is a favorite for its brass look but the drop in the stock doesnt give me a good cheek weld. So if you are looking at that one you might want to shoulder it before you buy one.

I was looking at the OCT barrel. I have a golden boy .30.30 that's also oct barrel, And I like them alot. Although if I'm going golden boy again I needed something that will be different then the .30.30. I totally agree you should touch it before you buy. I have 2 rifle that are so different there both my favorite right now but the stocks rest differently and I one is more comfortable

My 2 favorites are the Frontier H001T and the Frontier Long Barrel H001TLB, both are great shooters.

I have a Golden Boy 22 but like Al I prefer my small game carbine with the peep sight. Also like my 22 pump.

Thanks for the recomendations everyone. A 22 is going to be nice. It should help my aim and love of shooting. The magic kinda fades when you realize 45-70 is rare and 2$ a round and the 30-30 just vanished in my area lol

I would recommend the H001 Classic as a first Henry 22. However the pump would also be a good choice. Now that I think about it there are no bad choices.

That's why I'm getting opinions, I was looking and Henry has like 6 .22 AND a full line of tributes. How do you choose?

The Classic H001 is beautiful.

It's not if it's when....but I'm mostly getting it to affordably shoot. I don't need 4 lol

+1 on the Small Game Carbine recommendation. That was my 2nd Henry. Large loop, peep sight, handy barrel length.

But, as you're seeing from the enablers above, Henrys are kinda like your favorite chips -- hard to stop, even at two!

Keep us posted on your research and decision. Hard to go wrong, really.

Nothing wrong with having as much as you want. Personally I think one .22 will be enough for me. Getting a fourth gun for me would make more sense to get a carbine besides no matter how many .22 I purchase I'll always just shot my favorite anyway, it's just for targets and maybe problematic critters

Well it's back to a possiblity, no one has a Henry 22 for over 100 miles. I saw a marlin 22 but I think I do want the Henry I was locking for. Besides I was going to by it to shoot for fun, and my area is out of .22 .22m .22lr is all gone

Have 5 Henry 22's in various models including the pump. My favorite & best shooter is my small game carbine in 22 magnum. A great handling lil rifle & a real tack driver to boot. Just a phenomenal rifle through & through.

.22 s/l/lr I have 2 and 1 .22 mag and 3 .17 hmr, I could probably fit a SGC in.

I just drove 2,200 miles to shoot my Henry.

I received the Henry golden boy as a gift, it's my favorite 22. I also own a Savage MarkII and a 10-22 rifles as well. The Henry is just plain fun
