I recently picked up a Henry 3030 in brass that I'm absolutely loving, but I have a question to those more used to the brand. I feel like the Henry is so we'll assembled I'm having issues getting the lever screw out. I just wanna pop out the bolt and clean the barrel, but I'm starting to think all the screwdrivers I have will strip this bolt. Anyone have a similar issue or have a clever solution? I'm starting to feel I might have to bug a gunsmith to break it lose for me which feel like it would waste there time.

Order a set of gunsmith drivers, or pick a set up at your local shop. You can get a decent amateur set for about $15 that should handle your needs.

Get you a nice firearms type screwdriver set and find a bit that seats in the screw slot perfectly and give it a firm twist. It should pop loose. Henry doesn't use any thread locker on it. All of mine break loose easily.

All the other screws are fine. It has me cracking up the one I'll take out the most is suck the rest are with the program, this one screw is in there tight. I really like this gun I'd love to clean it and take it back to the range anyone ever gotten a take down screw for there lever?

All my Lever screws come out easy. Like others have said get a set of gunsmith screwdrivers

agree on getting a gunsmith set of screwdrivers or driver bits .... I have no clue why that one screw should be so difficult to remove

Can't imagine that screw being so difficult to remove. Maybe it was cross threaded during assembly?
At least do what Gunny suggested and get a cheap set of screw drivers. I picked up a set for about $15.00.

Did you open your leaver about half way first before trying to remove the screw ? I don't know why that might be important but I have had a few lever guns that the screw was easier to remove if the lever was half open and not closed but then the book tells you to open it half way anyhow but this might have gotten overlooked if you are new to it.

Thanks for the welcome and advice everyone, I have some tools I may need on the way, I have want to clean it before I take it out again. I'm stumped on this screw as well. I'll let you know when I get it out and clean. First impressions are very positive, the kicks not horrible ( even with that brass plate). Fresh out of the box it was a bit stiff, but a few drops of oil and a few cycles of the lever fixed that up. Very nice quality walnut, I'm curious what the fancy looks like now.

The lever screw is the only screw that is subject to rotation forces every time you work the lever. I suspect that it may be designed to be a little difficult to get it started for that reason. Mine is.

Yeah I'm half afraid of ruining my brass recover with a slipped screwdriver and half afraid I'll strip the screw. I have a close to 80% surety my main issue is improper driver tips ( most of mine are more wedged the screw is more flat)

I feel pretty certain the right type screw driver will do the trick. ( hollow-ground ) will not slip, if careful.

The key word is careful. Even a good hollow ground screwdriver can slip if your hands shake like mine do. Just use the screwdriver enough to get the head of the screw out enough to grab with your fingers and then unscrew the rest of the way from there.

FWIW...agreed. Another good point!

Im sure once I get the thing loose it'll be fine butI actually found a take down screw said to fit my Henry so after I get this one out I'm going to try that out a bit. The screw has a nob I might not like, but could make a simple cleaning super fast.
