Thanks to Anthony Imperato for taking time to quickly try an answer the questions regarding the longer length of round barrel Carbines and sending along a few cool items.
They do appreciate their customers!
A mug full of .44 Magnum for the Carbine!

Well engineering told him that was the case but no reason was given! All the octagonal barreled carbines are 16.5 but the round barreled
versions are 17.5 The Henry advertising and tech specs say ALL were 16.5

Then they need to change the specs on the website, before they get sued for deceptive advertising.
https://consumer.laws.com/deceptive-adv ... definition
ETA: I think the problem/confusion is that Henry is advertising
bore length (16.5") for the BBSC round barrels and calling it barrel length. Bore length is the distance from the muzzle to the chamber - in other words the rifled portion of the barrel. Bore length used to be (many years ago) a fairly common measurement. But when the ATF got involved ( NFA short barrel rifle definition is purely arbitrary), they wanted a easy to measure standard criteria that could be used across all calibers and models. So enter the muzzle to closed bolt method that was widely adopted by industry in order to keep themselves and their customers out of jail. So now, if you buy a precision rifle where actual bore length is important for mv, you'll likely have to measure that yourself, or at least subtract the chamber dimension from the ATF type measurement of barrel.
