Henry Rifle Forums

I'm about to do some gun trading and want a new .22 rifle. Anyone know of issues with either the lever or pump Henry. I do like both and lean toward the lever gun with short barrel and big loop.

Just an FYI. If you type this into the search box upper right, "H003t pump," you'll find some threads on the Henry pump.

If you're considering the lever-action carbine, H001L, my SGC (H001TLP) is basically the same rifle only with different sights on it. It is a very smooth lever-action, and accurate, too. The other very accurate rimfire Henry I've shot is the classic H001.

Since these are both Henrys, you can't miss having a great rifle. Have fun in the choosing.

We have a Henry pump 22LR and three Henry lever 22LRs - no issues with any of them (other than changing out the sights with peeps). They have all been excellent rifles. You may want to handle the pump before you decide on it though, because it has a pretty stiff action that takes some getting used to...

There is one BIG ISSUE with Henrys. Once you own one, you’ll buy more and more, and your other guns will be used less and less! I’m partial to the H001TLP myself as well, and my .357.

When in doubt buy both.

I have one of each - a H001T and a H003T, and they are both fantastic rifles. They are slick and accurate, and great fun to shoot. The pump needs to be cycled like you mean it, but once you get the hang of it you won't get the smile off your face.

I have one of each and agree with Sir Henry get one of each. The Small Game Carbine Henry is the best lever action 22 ever. The pump is a great gun and you will need to put at least 500 rounds thru it before it loosens up. Like Les said cycle it like you mean it. My pump is very accurate.

I have a Rossi pump. Good rifle, but for sentimental reasons I wish it were a Henry lever.

I have two Henry Lever Action Rifles GB .22LR & .22 Magnum.

NO-NO, keep the Rossi and just find a Henry.

You’ll be kicking yourself for getting rid of that neat little Winchester 62 copy.

I looked at a used pump Henry a couple weeks back and it pumped easy and locked up solid when closed. I have always heard about how stiff they are to work but this one wasn't. I should have bought it for the $225 price they were asking for it but didn't want another rifle chambered for 22 Magnum. I really would like to have a Remington Model 12 or 121.

I will be keeping the Rossi, no doubt. It will be passed on down the family line eventually.

Just my preference but i'd take a lever gun any day over a pump.

That was kinda my point if I could do a do over and the rifles at the time had been side-by-side. The Rossi pump I have is a sweet .22 and I wouldn't trade it for a Henry. But, if I needed/wanted another .22 it would be a Henry lever.

I guess I like Lever actions the most as I have three levers and only one pump.

My next three will be a Marlin Mountie, Browning BL22 and Henry Frontier H001-T.

The only Pump I want badly is a Winchester model-61.

I have a Henry pump I love it. Going to get a lever next. The pump is a LR going for a MAG in the lever. The Henry’s do reproduce. The Varmint express in .17 HMR looks interesting

I have a pair of Henry's GB .22 LR & .22 Magnum. love them.
