Questions on selling via the web site
Questions on selling via the web site
DayTime Dave and Sir Henry,
I decided to put this question under the General Henry discussion forum. I have noticed there is not a forum/sub-forum that provides for persons to sell anything related to firearms. Is something like a "Henry Market Forum" possibly being considered? Or is advertising/selling not allowed? I don't recall reading anything specific in the forum intro stuff or in the FAQs, but I could have easily missed it.
When I joined the RFC I found there is a forum titled "Trading Post Classifieds." The RFC administrators outline their disclaimers of responsibility, and the guidelines for use of this selling area. I'm a member of the Shotgun Forum also, and was able to sell shotgun ammo there.
Right now I have a supply of .22 magnum ammo, which I would like to sell. Again, would that be allowed here? If not, it is not a problem.
Thanks for your instruction on this.

Dave or I will get back to you on this. I've bought and sold stuff on other forums and have never had a problem either way.

I see the "Classified" forum now on the Board, plus the guidelines for use.
Thanks to you two for allowing it to go!

Re: Questions on selling via the web site
After talking with Dave about classifieds we will be making a small change. To keep people from joining just to sell something many forums require ten posts before being allowed to post in the classifieds. But that just means they make ten quick posts about nothing. So we will require at least one hundred posts before allowing anyone to post an ad. But we will not make the change until most current members have at least that many posts. I think everyone here now joined because they like Henrys and not to sell anything.

I can't remember exactly what I read on RFC as relates to an appropriate restriction/control on posting, which you are setting up, Sir Henry. I think they do not allow classifieds to be posted until a person has been a member for 30 days? It's been a while since I read their stuff. Maybe next time I'm there I'll check it out again. Anyway, some type of controls are good.
Yes, I joined the Henry Rifle Forums because I definitely like my Henrys. That's the best reason to be here! But I'm glad to wait for my century post to put out my ad -- no problem at all.
Thanks again.

I haven't made the changes yet so you are free to post. Maybe around tax deadline time I'll make the change.PT7 wrote:I can't remember exactly what I read on RFC as relates to an appropriate restriction/control on posting, which you are setting up, Sir Henry. Re: Questions on selling via the web site
Thanks very much, Gentlemen. I posted my ad this evening.
Appreciate you two opening up the Classifieds.
DaytimeDave, I'm selling what I think is quality and accurate .22 WMR ammo. I read on one of the forums that although the Speer ammo is advertised for pistols, it shoots excellently out of rifles, as well. Just hope someone will put these to good, and safe, use.Questions on selling via the web site
