New Henry Models coming

Havent been on for about 5 days as I was off elk hunting. But upon return in my email was some new models coming out for 2019. I see they have answered some single shot prayers and the 357 will be out in the brass and steel version. I also see the single shot steel version coming out in 30-30. There are several other engraved models coming in the Long Ranger. No new calibers in the Long ranger just some engraved and special edition models. Im excited to see the 357 in the single shot coming and Im thinking that one of the brass versions will be living at my house.

Great choices by Henry in making the single shot in .357 and .30-30. I'm certain there will be a long line of Folk all over the country waiting for those to hit the LGS!

How did your elk hunting go? Any harvest/photos?
What firearm did you use?
Hope it was a good hunt time.

Had one shot at dusk. Long shot after chasing some that crossed the road in front of us. Didnt bring one home but we had a great time. I was breathing hard and wind was blowing. I was using my Savage Bear Claw in 338 Win mag. I love the gun.

Sounds like a great hunt. Good for you. You'll get some elk steaks, next time.

As for the single shots, I think that is great news. Was a little surprised Henry didn't do the 357 and, especially, the 30-30, on the first run, but sounds like they've been listening. Good for them.

Al,
Did this email come from HRA? I'm on their email list but didn't get the preview of new models email you're referring to.

Don't know that I understand engraved Long Rangers vs. other calibers, but they must have some research that says there's a segment that wants it...

The single shot 357 is probably good news for most folks. I like the 357 Mag. OK but I am different and would much rather see a single shot 35 Rem. The 35 Rem. in a Contender is a hammer and would really have some power in the longer barrel of the single shot Henry. Try to find a NEF in a 35 Rem. or a 444 Marlin and see if any one will part with either one. With the 35 Rem. I could load down to 357 velocity or full out 35 Rem. loads. Also I could use up some of the way to many 357 pistol bullets I have in the single shot 35 Rem. Another thing is Henry already has nice lever .357's and never made a 35 Remington in any thing. The old 35 is still going strong in my home state of Pa. and continues just knocking down black bear and deer like it is a much bigger cartridge than it is. Two hundred grain and 220 gr. 35 cal. bullets just seem to work in the hunting woods here.

Im not thinking you are different Bandit. I know quite a few folks that would love to see a 35 Remington come out again as I see this all the time on other forums I visit once in a while. I to have had many contenders and have shot them quite a bit. I dont have them anymore as my interest just changed. But I know 35 Remington in the contender was a popular round. Maybe someday but I think they got a lot of hits on there website for 357 and 30-30 in the single shot. I want one just to plink with and because its cheap to load for. Al

Before Remington dropped the NEF Handi-Rifle the .357, 30-30 and the.223 were the most popular calibers, or so I read. Glad to see Henry is capitalizing on what Remington gave up.

I agree Bandit. I've got enough guns but would be hard pressed to turn down A 35 Rem.

I wonder if they will consider making a single shot in 22 Hornet.

Henry must of had these in the works for a while as there are 30-30 and 357 models available now I see on Gunbroker. So I did the right thing and bought a steel model in 357. Should be here soon and I will post up some pictures. Just had to try a single shot in 357. Al

Man oh man, if Henry would make a 35 Remington I’d be happy as a pig in mud.

.35 rem. will get my attention in a single shot, but so will the good old 30-30. It's nice to see them do that. :)

Lord, these Long Ranger Wildlife Editions are beautiful! Would love to have the coyote model in .223. Might have to be my next purchase.
