Wait is over for the H010CC !

Post by Ozarkridgerunner » Wed Aug 15, 2018 10:22 am

It is here. Picked up my CC .45-70 late yesterday form the dealer. What a beautiful rifle! I can't wait to let the " lead fly". Impressive workmanship and it's got a good heft to it. Love the Case hardened patterns and coloring. That heavy hex barrel really sets it off too. You know you have it in hand but balances well. With the weight and recoil pad it sure should help absorb some of that .45/70 whallop even with the heavy loads as many of you folks have stated about yours. Chomping at the bit to shoot but it's raining here today and duty calls at the stockyards. As soon as the wife or kids can help this tech challenged hillbilly, we'll get some pics hopefully. And a range report ! Thanks

Thanks a bunch. Maybe now I won't be preaching on the validity of the .243 so much !! Everyone's probably getting tired of seeing my opinions on that! I will definitely be adding some comments on the old .45/70 as soon as I can limber it up (which it will probably do to me ).

Nobody can fault you for liking what you like!

I'm imagining, though, that the 45/70 will make your 243s seem like pea-shooters!

Good luck and keep us posted!

congrats on the new addition .... our CCH 45-70 has quickly become one of our favorites .... with HSM Cowboy Action loads it is literally fun to fire .... with full power hunting loads its "personality" undergoes an instant drastic drastic transformation to where it can take down most any critter, any time, any where .... looking forward to your ongoing range reports and comments

That recoil pad on that 45-70 will become you're best friend. Mine has.

I can imagine that is for certain. I really like the looks of the curved metal butt plate like the brass models have, but I have a feeling a man's shoulder would get punished.

Get what you like. Live/deal with the punishment later.
