Just got the Big Boy Steel 357 carbine Any suggestions for best plinking ammo?

do you load your own ammo .... for plinking with factory ammo, going with whatever you can find that's cheap and that your Henry likes .... I don't recommend using 38 spec because of the shorter casing link .... please take a look at our How Many ? thread and add your Henry to our community's total

My all time favotite plinking load is a 38 special loaded with 4.5 grains of Unique and a 158 grain cast bullet. In revolvers I shoot SWC, in lever actions I use RNFP. Used this load with much success in local Cowboy Action Shoots. A few passes with a bore snake and I'm ready for .357 Mags.
