Can anyone provide an idea on turn around time? Ordered three weeks ago...

ours took 3 - 4 weeks .... don't know how much of that was related to the custom number

I'd say it probably matters which model/caliber you're ordering too.
The .327's are a hot commodity right now. Might take a while depending on your model/caiber.

Then again, I could be wrong.

I can see where there production schedule could be a major factor

I ordered two Henry's with custom serial numbers when Sportsmans Outdoor was doing their "Heirloom" sale. I purchased in August and they said I should have them before Christmas. I'm hoping for sooner though.
Maybe ordering directly from Henry would have been quicker?

I don't know that you can order direct from Henry and have shipped to a FFL transfer agent. Ordered H004, had a tough time getting them. One dealer didn't want to mess with "all that" paperwork, it is literally one sheet of paper with a couple boxes to fill in. Vance's here in central ohio was adamant that you could only do it during the heirloom promotion, they just didn't want to mess with it either. They like to do it during a promotion so they can order more and get better bulk pricing. Found one sales lady that lives where I work though, she ran it through for me.

I'm not going to say you can order directly from Henry, but you can receive help.
It's there for the asking.

I wanted one of the new Big Boy steel rifles as soon as I heard they would be offering it in .327 Federal magnum. I wanted it BAD!
I asked every local gun shop I could find about ordering one. No luck. They were not yet shipping.
I kept perusing the Henry web site looking at the pictures and drooling.

I was determined to find one so I called Henry customer service to ask when they would be available.
No luck again, but not a complete bust either.
The nice man at customer service suggested I email the company President, Mr. Anthony Imperato.
He said there was a link on the "contact us" page to "Email the president" for help in finding your model.

I emailed. Less than 48 hours later I received an email from Mr. Imperato himself.
He thanked me for my interest in Henry rifles, asked who my preferred FFL was(along with his contact info.) and then gave me the name and email address of a lady named Dee in Rice Lake Wisconsin.
Dee assured me that when the model I wanted started to ship, they would make sure the FFL of my choice received my rifle, with my name on it!
One or two days after I talked to Dee, my FFL called me to tell me that Henry had contacted him to inform him of my request, and their intention to ship him a rifle. That was a first for him.

It took MONTHS more to actually receive my rifle, but that was because they were not yet ready for prime time.
I have my new Henry now, and I have yet to see many in the wild.
Davison's Gallery of Guns still has them listed on stock watch, but I've been shooting mine for two months!

Thank you Dee in Rice Lake. Thank you Mr. imperato, and bring on the Henry's.

I can advise that right now, turn around time is about a month on the button. Picked it up today, what a beauty! Can't wait till Christmas, actually will be shooting is plenty until it officially becomes my daughters.
