I've been a huge fan of Henry rifles ever since I bought my first, an H001 Classic, a few years ago. I followed that up with an H009 30-30 shortly after that, and I've been very happy with both rifles.

I haven't bought another Henry since then, despite the fact that HRA has come out with quite a few extremely interesting new models. I think there is a reason why I haven't bought another Henry, and it's that the stores that sell them seem to get few, of any, of the newer models. Cabela's does usually have a Long Ranger in stock, but that's an exception.

Henry rifles have a presence at almost every store I go to where guns are sold. I will give them credit for that. But, I'd really like to see more of their newer offerings in person. I'd be a lot more likely to buy them if I could pick them up and handle them.

I do hope they arrive on store shelves quickly to help you do just that! Then, I really look forward to reading your first impressions.

a while back I spoke with the local Mom & Pop gun dealership we've dealt with since the 70's .... he told me that when new Henry rifles make it to the market it usually takes a good while to meet the backlog .... so it takes even longer to fill the demands from dealers for stock units .... don't know it that's still the case but it did make sense to me

I've been waiting for more than a year for my Long Ranger.

I ordered a Single shot 45-70 back in early April, hoping that they'd make their predicted May shipping, but not surprised that they didn't. As I understand it, Henry is better than many companies about hitting pretty close to their predicted dates of availability, though. They have revised the shipping date to July, so we'll find out. In spite of not being able to handle one, I ordered that rifle on the strength of the quality of their other rifles, and I expect that I'll be pleased with it, when it arrives. They probably had to get caught up with the Long Ranger production before starting on the single shots .
Also, not all places that carry Henry products are "Gold" dealers that carry the full line. For that reason, I ordered from a Gold dealer located about 12 blocks from the Rice Lake factory, figuring that they should arrive there first (Actually, I live pretty close to Rice Lake).

Selection is pretty thin here too. I agree about handling them. It's just better.

Single shots, lever action shotguns, new brass big boy models in 41 and 327, long rangers, and all weather models with a demand they didnt expect. JMHO but theres alot here on there plate. True they chose to make these moves. But it may take sometime for them to get caught up. Im like the rest of you also I would love to put my hands on the model I want before I buy it. Around here though there isnt the buying volume in order for the local gun stores to carry all there models. Most of the smaller gun stores cannot afford to carry that much inventory.

We have a similar situation in the UK. My LGS usually has some Henrys in stock, but it will only be a couple of the most popular rifles. Generally speaking, though, very few gun stores have Henry rifles in stock.

I think that there is only one importer of Henry goods over here, so maybe there are contractural issues involved that I don't know about, but what ever the reason is, it makes finding a Henry very difficult.

Lotsa stores here in Wisconsin keep Henry rifles in stock, but it's normally just the basic lineup. H001's, Golden Boys, 30-30's, 45-70's, the occasional Big Boy Brass. I have yet to see a case colored Henry in person, nor have I seen a Small Game model, either carbine or rifle flavor.

When I lived down south, the octagon barrel Frontier models were pretty common, but I don't see many of those here.

I'm not holding out much hope for seeing any of the new single shot rifles in stores any time soon.

My LGS has in stock several all weather models, a long ranger, and I believe I saw the new .410 shotgun there a little while back. I fondled, excuse me, handled the long range in .308. Man that bolt goes on forever.

I need to come down there and visit your LGS.

I ordered one of the new H012M327 Big Boy steel .327's back in February.
