New H001, can't strip reveiver cover? Powder coated?
I've got a snow day here and figured I'd strip my receiver cover and go for the dull silver look. Well, after having a gel stripper on it for half an hour, it didn't even begin to affect the surface. I'm guessing that Henry is now powder coating them? I know my stripper is old, but it should have done *something*. Not even a wrinkle.

At least your old stripper doesn't have wrinkles.
Seriously though Sir Henry has refinished quite a few of them.... Guns not strippers
He should have some advice.

I buff mine down with a wire brush. The secret is not pushing too hard as you will burn down an edge. I've never used chemicals.

I think back when I stripped mine I took a piece of 120 sand paper and lightly broke the black finish to let the stripper get started to loosen it up. Taking the primer off is just about as bad. Mine is a six year old Frontier. Could be a different finish used now. Well worth the effort in my opinion.
