Turn around time from Henry

Post by 22LR » Fri Jan 27, 2017 11:16 am

Hi Folks,

Just posing a general question that I have regarding turn around time for sending a rifle back to Henry for replacement.

So here is what has happened with my Small Game Rifle (H001TRP)

Purchased the rifle and upon reciept found that it is engraved with the wrong model number number (H00TLP) instead of (H001TRP). On the first range trip I found that the front sight was too short. The rifle was shooting 3 1/4" high at 25 yards. Rear peep sight was bottomed out and there is no more elevation adjustment. Messaged Anthony and he requested to send the rifle back and he will get a replacement out to me that has: the correct model number engraved and enough sight adjustment to shoot POI = POA (25-50 yard range).

I got a repair notice from Henry that stated repairs take up to 4 weeks to complete.

For those that have sent a rifle back for work or replacement what was the time from when you shipped your rifle to when you got it back?

Thanks for your input!

based on everything we know, you can count on Henry to take care of the issues .... if you haven't had an opportunity to do so, please go to this thread ===> http://henryrifleforums.com/viewtopic.p ... 9&start=90 .... and add your Henry to our community's total

Haven't sent a rifle back to Henry. I can tell you, though, that parts come in the mail in 2-3 days after you talk to customer service.

I had the firing pin on my H006M repaired, and it was received and returned to me in about a week. Henry didn't notify me that it was shipped, though. Fortunately, my wife was here when it arrived to sign for it.

Keep us posted.

Thanks to everyone who has commented. I will post updates as I get more info.

I just wonder if the return time will be longer since my rifle is to be replaced. There is no gunsmith warranty work to be done. Just the paperwork to get a new rifle shipped out.

When I sent mine in, Henry received it on a Friday and I received it back the following Friday.
No notice at all that it was shipped.

They usually take about three days in-house for repairs. At least that is the average for members that have posted here.

My rifle has been there since 1/16, when it was delivered by UPS. It was received on 1/17 by the repairs department and since then, all I have heard is that the rifle is still in repair. Since they are replacing the rifle, wonder if they don't have one on the shelf ready to ship or waiting on the next production run of H001TRP's.

Just want to go out and shoot and get dialed in to use a lever action to qualify for Appleseed Rifleman. Guess I just need more patience during the wait.

A quick update....

I called Henry CS asking for a status and I got a return call from Pete, one of the Customer Service managers. Pete took ownership of the paperwork being stuck in process for the past 2 weeks. He just received the replacement request paperwork on his desk. Normally, the repair process works fine but this time for some reason, my repair request got stuck somewhere.

He did mention that he would get the replacement processed tomorrow (as it's closing time for their shop for today) and e-mail me the package tracking information when it becomes available.

I sent my .45-70 back twice. Both times it was two weeks from me shipping it back until I received it back. The second time, they did a complete upgrade but I sent it in when they contacted me and requested it.

PMC - That would be great if they did upgrade the shipping.

In my email conversations with Anthony, he requested that I put in my repair note that he sees the paperwork and new rifle before it shipped out. Not sure if next day shipping would even be a thought when the get ready to ship.

We'll see how things pan out in the next couple of days.

Any company can make a slip-up but its how a company deals with it that makes them stand out.

Please don't take this thread as a rant against Henry. I totally understand that sometimes things get a bit mixed up.

I've been impressed with their availability when I as questions. I just want to share my experience to the group in case if something simiilar happens to someone else.

They have already done things that exceed my expectations to rectify the wrong model number inscribed on the rifle. For what they are doing for me to help, I am grateful. In comparison to when I sent a pistol back to Springfield, the interaction and support from Henry is 1000% better.

I think that things may have gotten slowed down due to the Shot Show. Not sure who went from Henry, but if key members of the org were out of office this could explain the delay.

Here's the latest update from Henry.

Rifle is currently being built. They were waiting on receivers to come in with the corrrect model number engraved on them. Apparently the receivers are delivered with the model number already engraved. During assembly the serial number is engraved as part of the build process.

Progress is being made, just waiting now for tracking information and then the UPS guy at the house!
