Anyone know anything about the Triple K leather rifle scabbard sold by Cabelas? Looks ok online, and price is not bad.

Are you speaking of the horse saddle scabbard or the back quiver? I have one of the back quivers and like it. Like most things Triple K it's well made and Purdy. A little roomy for my Golden Boy but works great for my Big Boy and 45/70. I also have a couple of their holsters and like them too.

Thanks I was curious about their quality. Your stuff looks pretty good. They have a nice saddle scabbard suede lined that looks heavy duty for 20" barrel.

I have several Triple K products and while they are rather bland they are of the highest quality leather and stitching.

RanchRoper,
Looking at Squatch's picture, I have one that is very similar. I've had this scabbard for about a year, which I bought through Skinner Sights. Again after seeing Squatch's post, I wonder if mine is a Triple-K product? Sure looks the same. Maybe Skinner supported the product on their web site?
Anyway, if you go to Andy's web page
http://www.skinnersights.com/scabbards_20.html and scroll to the very bottom, you'll see this scabbard called the "Quiver." I found that it works great for either of my Henrys. Here is the picture you'll see:

I think the
leather is very high quality, and this will probably be the only one I'll ever have. I used it the last time I went out deer hunting, and it sure makes the trek across the fields to the deer blind quite easy!

Thanks guys. Price is right, less than a saddle maker quoted me. I think I'll try one. I want a lining to protect the rifle. Quality looks good.

So on this same website, I was looking at the Rossi 92 rifle pics of one for sale. Is it just me or does the wood not even come close to the Henry's I've seen pics of on this forum? The Henry's are absolutely beautiful.

Not to knock Rossi....but agreed on your "absolutely" comment.
I would always give double-thumbs up to Henry for their rifle wood!
My recently bought SGC is proof.
RanchRoper, let us know what you finally decide to get for your scabbard.
Thanks, Squatch. We done good --- It's a great piece of leatherwork!

I decided on the suede lined Triple K. Ordering this week. Will post a pic when it's hung on my saddle. Then one day soon a pic of a BB in it!

RanchRoper, it is not just you. If you ever see a Rossi and a Henry in the same store, compare them. It isn't just the wood that doesn't measure up.

Yes I checked out Winchester in my local store and I didn't think it measured up furniture-wise either. Henry is a cut above.

The Rossi is not an expensive firearm by any means and they need a bit of tinkering before they shoot right. But if you put ten hours into one they shoot great and you can even get them to look nice. I like them because they are gate loaders.

New scabbard and rifle may show up at the same time...that's good because a swiffer wet-jet sticking out of the scabbard just doesn't send the same message to my cowboy pals...
