My Marlin 336W, with scope, came with an extension. My Henry H009 did not. I suspect an extension could come in handy, when using an scope. Honestly, I forget that the Marlin has an hammer extension, when I do lower the hammer, using my thumb.

The Henry supplied Carlson ambidextrous works a treat. There won’t be any issues with slipping.

Put the Ranger Point Precision on my Big Boy 44mag and really like it. Cold, wet, whatever thumb will definitely not slip.
