Suppressors

I am waiting for my 357model X to come in. looks like this weekend. I have been watching youtubes and I thought I would like a suppressor, that is until I looked prices. Are there any good suppressore out there that are not the price of a new gun. I may just stay with my Walker head set. Bidens new taxes are dipping into my retirement next fund month and not sure what I can buy after that.

I went thru Silencer Central 2 yrs. ago to purchase the Banish 45 which is good for all pistol calibers from 45 on down. They take care of getting all your paperwork together and sending it in. Was a very simple procedure and going with the Trust makes it easy to pass the suppressor on to a family member and to add others to the Trust to be able to use it. Took 1 year and a month for my Tax Stamp and suppressor to be delivered to my house.
If I remember it was just under 1000 bucks back then. I use it most on my Henry X45 rifle. I shoot only plated bullets when using it on the rifle or pistol as it keeps cleanup much easier than plain lead bullets. In my pistols I get a good bit of blow back carbon in the action but the rifle stays very clean.

I posted this in the other thread. I make reference to 9mm, but IIRC the cans listed are rated for 357 mag.

"The following would be good cans for 9mm, Most of these cans have 45 cal versions also. most all will handle more than a 9mm

Silencer co 36m
https://www.silencershop.com/silencerco-omega-36m.html
Griffin armament bushmaster 36
https://www.silencershop.com/griffin-ar ... er-36.html
Rugged alaskan 360
https://www.silencershop.com/rugged-sup ... n-360.html
Dead air wolfman
https://www.silencershop.com/dead-air-wolfman.html
Banish 45
https://www.silencercentral.com/products/banish-45/

Since we are into the 45 call cans
Griffen bushmaster 46 g2
https://www.silencershop.com/griffin-bu ... er-46.html
Silencer co 46m
https://www.silencershop.com/silencerco-hybrid-46m.html
Dead air primal
https://www.silencershop.com/dead-air-primal.html

So, one thing to keep in mind is how much lead ammo you shoot. If you shoot lead ammo regularly, you want to pick a can that can be disassembled and cleaned in a tumbler. If you shoot plated, coated or jacketed only, then you can make do with a sealed can.

How important is that? Well, after about 600 rounds of 38 lead and 45 colt lead, my can weigh about half a pound more. After a long time, your sound reduction will be minimal.

What did i go with, Griffen bushmaster 46v2. I'll likely pick up a bushmaster 36 also."

Right now i am using my form 1 can on my big boy x rifles (one in 45 colt and one in 357 mag)
I recommend a quick detatch system over screwing in. For my form 1 i am using a trilug mount. I am not happy with it. With my Griffen Bushwacker v2 I will be using griffen's taper mount system. That should be more stable and consistent than the tri lug.

For pistol calibers the tri lug is fine, but when you get into rifle caliber ratings I think the suppressor moves a bit. So, that is why i am changing to a taper mount lock.

LGS in town has everything needed to process suppressor order electronically from start to finish. E-forms and finger prints all processed and filed in minutes. They claim 3 month turn around.

Nah, the AFT promised 90 days. Told all the retailers it would be 90 days, and promptly dragged their feet until it was the same time as the paper filers.

Just wait till they start proscessing the SBR requests from all the folks with pistol braces. That will keep the busy for awhile.

so far they are. its about 40 days right now, I expect the form 1's to creep up to about 200 days before it is all said and done. I saw this "rule" coming years ago and went straight SBR.
