Here's a list from 2020, that seems to be a little more accurate.IMHO
Broke down from buyers under 50 yrs old, and those of over 50.

I don't think GB would qualify as a valid survey sample. Too many sellers are flippers. They buy a popular gun and try to flip it at scalped prices, skewing what could have been a valid sample.

That is the problems with most surveys. That is why it is up to the reader to eat the meat and spit out the bones, kind of like eating fish.

Also taken from GB data. The source link at the bottom of the page https://nssfpdf.s3.amazonaws.com/Online ... ne2020.pdf opens a file containing GB sales data.Vaquero wrote: ↑Sun Feb 26, 2023 10:19 amHere's a list from 2020, that seems to be a little more accurate.IMHO

Too much GB fish meat to eat to make it worth while. In the end it just stinks.GFK wrote: ↑Sun Feb 26, 2023 11:27 amThat is the problems with most surveys. That is why it is up to the reader to eat the meat and spit out the bones, kind of like eating fish.

I'd say that the AR-15 is still top dog of purchased rifles, the manufacture differ as there are umptine dozens different companies that build them now.
As far as handguns, well I haven't a clue what the most popular is, but most likely some flavor of 9mm.

I wouldn't be surprised if that survey is closed to being fact, for GunBroker sales, but there is another facet that I've not seen discussed.
As each surge in gun sales grows larger, more and more people join in and purchase more arms.
When this happens some models become scarce.
When a lot of the most popular models become unavailable, people turn to their second, third, or even fourth choice to purchase, because that's all that's available.
Sort of akin to a self-licking ice cream cone.
