I open carried a LOT when I used to shoot and own handguns.

I had an all purpose, western, Triple K leather belt and two Triple K leather holsters that worked for several Ruger single action revolvers in 22lr/22wmr and for the Ruger Blackawks in 45Long Colt and 357Magnum.

I liked to use the western rig better in the woods/wilderness than my shoulder holsters but I did USE the shoulder holsters in the woods/wilderness too. Plus at the range or when traveling.

I could adjust and get to my firearm, if needed, while wearing the western rig over shorts, jeans, jackets and even OVER a ranch or duster winter coat.

Even though there are one off posting scattered throughout this site, I could not find a same caliber pairing topic except in this older thread.

My same caliber partners: H012GCCC .45 Colt | Uberti Colt .45 Revolver | 1858 New Army Conversion .45 Colt Revolver.

My pairings have changed over the decades. For a long time I collected WWII firearms. My favorites were Enfields both No 1’s and No 4’s with a No 5 thrown in. I collected them from as many countries and plants as possible. I had an FFL C&R license and could buy them wholesale and have them shipped directly to my home. As a secondary collection I also had other military rifles made between 1939 and 1945.

For the last 10 years I have collected mostly rimfire.

I paired my Golden Boy with a Ruger Wrangler .22 so I had a Single action, though I had other 22s I could carry.

The Big Boy 357 Carbine is Mated with the Uberti Birdshead Single action though I also had other 38s and 357s.

The Henrys just call out for a Single Action partner in matching caliber.

I carry the Henry garden gun with a S&W model 63 a lot. Both loaded with .22 shotshells.

Good thread resurrection Mags!

Of course there are other pairings. I often paired my Glock 22 carried in a strong side holster, with my Glock 27 (mini) in a pocket holster in the Jacket. Or carry my Sig P220 in my shoulder holster, with my Kimber compact behind my right hip.
