1,000 man shoot!

Post by Squatch » Fri Sep 23, 2016 11:09 am

Is anyone here going to the NRA/Henry 1,000 man shoot in AZ in November. I had thought about it but it seems they are already booked up.

1,000 folks will be getting new specially engraved Henry's! :D

Why did you wait so long to try to register. It sounds like we could have had an interesting road trip and come back with a couple of new rifles.

I was planning to go to this shoot early on, and in fact, I was ready to "click" the reservation for my airline tickets!! But the shoot reservations were already taken up, and I'm glad I didn't get the flights booked.

When I posted my response to the other thread on this event (around 9/11), the registrations were filled w/in a day or two. Then after only a couple of more days, the "wait list" maximum was reached, as well. So this registration was very similar to waiting for/buying .22LR ammo at wally world.....disappeared very quickly!

I didn't get this posted yesterday. Late Saturday evening I hopped on to the NRA web site to check out the events, times, etc., for the November 1000-Man Shoot. I found this notice posted -- the registrations sure filled up fast, and are now closed. There is a "wait-list" in place. I would bet that if Henry (Anthony Imperato) added another 1000 donated rifles, those registrations would disappear quickly, too. Have a great day!
On November 14, 2016, at the Ben Avery Shooting Facility in Phoenix, Ariz., history will be made. 1,000 freedom-loving Americans will join together to set a World Record by simultaneously firing 1,000 Henry Repeating Arms Golden Boy Silver rifles! That's right, one week after the 2016 Presidential Election, the NRA and Henry Repeating Arms will be setting a firearms World Record.

Due to high demand for this event, registration is currently unavailable. If you are interested in being placed on a waiting list, please email 1000ManShoot@nrahq.org with "Waiting List" in the subject title. If registration reopens, those on the waiting list will get the first opportunity to attend based on when they submitted their request.

Just watched this. I have a feeling that there wasn't anyone protesting the National Anthem at this event!

What amazed me was the logistics. There was about 1 range officers to every 3 shooters. Also, the size of the range - 1.5 miles - is mind boggling until you realize it is only about 7.5' per shooter.

I think that was the point of the whole deal. To show what can be done by a number of like minded folks intent on making it happen.

I got to see it the other day on a Henry Infomercial.

Pretty cool event.

Did not know that they got free Rifles to boot.

Hope they visit my area soon, lol.

No free rifles. The entry fee was around $800 if I recall. It covered the price of the rifle. I believe they were then shipped back to your local FFL for you to pick up.
