Repair/warranty/parts shipping rules

Post by GunnyGene » Fri Sep 02, 2022 10:45 am

Does anyone know how Henry is handling the new shipping rules published by UPS (and likely other shippers also). Henry hasn't updated their Shipping and Return Policy on the web page since April, and everyone now has to abide by the new rules. The UPS rules include all firearm products and parts, and that those must be shipped to an FFL. Which would appear to inhibit ordering parts, etc., that in the past would have been shipped direct to your door.

Don't make this political, please. I just want to know how it's going to work for us. Please read the below carefully and follow the link trail(s) for the details of the UPS shipping policy.

A lot of articles are worded to create a buzz... UPS broke shipping contracts with Brownell's and some other smaller company. Seems AR platform "ghost guns" were being shipped and UPS wanted nothing to do with that. I don't think this affects Henry or any other firearm or part manufacturer. Watch the hype, no way parts have to go to FFL, just actual serial numbered firearms.

I hope you're right about parts. I read the Terms of Service, and related info on the UPS website and I'm not so sure about it. I suppose somebody will have to test it.

I read that as well as a few other articles a few days ago.

I just emailed Henry about this. Asked them if I ordered a new lever (an essential part for a Henry), would UPS require them to ship it to a FFL. I'm awaiting a reply.

If I have to go to an ffl to pick up parts, I'll be done ordering anything.
Or make sure to ship fedx and screw UPS.

Of course. It will probably be next week before they respond. I'm sure their lawyers will be consulted. The interesting part is if Henry is impacted by this, I can only imagine what the semi-auto guys will have to endure.

That's encouraging. :) When did you order it? The new rules became effective this past Mon, 29 Aug.
