Can someone tell me if a brass Big Boy rifle is hard to keep looking nice. And, what you do to keep it looking nice? I am looking at a H006, Big Boy Classic in .44 mag.

Brasso should do it; there are others out there that work, Flitz or something called that. I let mine[HOO6 .357] go to patina. Still looks good, just not super shiny.

My 357 carbine still looks great after nearly six years. I just polish the brass now and then with brass polish, and wipe er down before putting it away. As stated above, some prefer to let the brass age naturally. Nothing wrong with that but the Marine in me demands polished brass trappings.

I put a coat of car wax on my Henry brass.

Well, I was in a LGS and saw a Henry Golden Boy on the shelf. It is a H004, .22 S/L/LR. It’s now in my possession.

Had my Big Boy Brass 357magnum for about 4years. I usually clean it after every range session. My brass has not been polished just wiped down after each cleaning. Brass still has a shine but is darkening up a little.

Pretty much what I do. I like the patina look. I need to get it back out to the range.

Little salt and vinegar and elbow grease got the aging started on my .357 "For a few dollars more" rifle
Can polish it all back to shiny but like it messy and didn't mess with the wood at all.

Your collection is off to a great start. Congratulations.

Pretty much the same. I clean 'em aftar a range trip, but, don't polish the brass. Just a wipe down.

I think my Golden Boy receiver cover has a clear coat finish on it. Can anyone confirm that they are sprayed with a clear coat finish. I found a few spots where it looks ands feels like it is breaking down.

I bought mine used and it already had/has a nice dull look.

I don't think so, mine was made Oct. of '07 and has a nice dull look to it.
Like old faded brass, and nothing peeling.
I have never seen or heard of anyone having any such issue.
It could be whatever solvents you are using that are naturally dulling it.
I bought mine used so I haven't a clue as to how long the shiny finish lasted, but
I like the dull patina, makes it look like an older rifle, and more of an old western look.

Same for mine[brass .357], bought it used in 2018, built in 2017. That started the ball rollin'!

I just (finally) bought my first long awaited Henry carbine in 45 LC, I was wondering about polishing/maintaining the brass (I started having flashbacks to boot camp DI's screaming at me about dull "brightwork"...thankfully, I found this thread and am confidently allowing the brass to age naturally (being naturally lazy, I was going to anyway, but now I wont have the guilt)...I don't clean my truck or my Harley either!
